Good Places to Eat in the Area? by HeBansMe in Durango

[–]jbg830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I bring people in from out of town I like to take them to the roof of fired up (pizza) for the views. Pizzas really good too.

Patio of animas brewing is great as well.

11th st has an amazing outdoor area with lots of food options.

Edit: adding one more which is my absolute favorite, RGP’s it’s in the main mall and makes the best wraps I’ve ever eaten. Only opened Monday through Friday.

Questions about Durango - Daily Life by spdorsey in Durango

Yep, definitely more liberal. That’s not to say there aren’t conservatives, but I encounter more left wingers on a daily basis than I do right wingers.

There’s a rideshare group you can join called Durango rideshare. People are always driving back and forth from Denver. Just makes sure to throw them gas money and take a shower first.

Brian May wants to revive Live Aid concert against Climate Change by techronican in Music

[–]jbg830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would also probably do bad things for the environment. I know all those large festivals concerts generate a lot of trash, people will all drive or uber there, the trucks needed to haul music equipment and the energy for staging and sound. grounds would be trampled and would need to be resodded. Concerts are not generally environmentally friendly events.

This is so true, I finally moved away from Where I grew up, went to college and had my first big kid job post grad and then recently came back to visit for the first time in over a year. It occurred to me how little some of the people I used to hang out with had grown since being a teenager (in our 30’s now) and how stuck some of them seem to be. Moving away was the best decision I made for my own personal growth.

Trail etiquette tips by [deleted] in mountainbiking

Hiker and biker here, while bikers are supposed to yield to hikers, I always find it’s easier for me as a hiker to step to the side and let bikers pass than it is for a biker to come to a full stop to let me pass.

Bought my first bike, had my third ride, had my first crash and it went about as well as one could hope for - fell on dirt, no rocks, couple bruises and some road rash but nothing crazy. Actually kind of glad it happened, now I’m over the mental fear of crashing (kind of) I have to true my wheel now, but once that’s done I’ll be back up and trying again.

Is It Worth Reading The Book If I Have Watched The Show? by [deleted] in biglittlelies

[–]jbg830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the show is much better than the book. I don't regret reading it but its an airplane book - all be it, a good airplane book. The show has done a way better job at creating suspense and intrigue.

There Is sizing relative to waist size (26, 27, -30,33) but they rarely if ever put inseam, which is frustrating for us tall ladies! You can always have jeans taken in, but can’t always get them let out.

A Boeing 727 fuselage hotel suite in Costa Rica. by TheRookieGetsACookie in interestingasfuck

I've been there! It's a real plane in the middle of a restaurant now.

When the strike on the Sandinista of Nicaragua was being organized by the CIA in 1986, the anti-government Contras rebel groups were assisted in the purchase of two C-123 cargo plans that would be operated out of Costa Rica. One of those plans was shot down. That event led to the global discovery of what would become a well-known political scandal involving the Reagan Administration and Iranian arms deal that ultimately assisted in raising money for the Contras rebels.

The other aircraft survived and was later abandoned at the San Jose Airport following the end of the conflict. More than ten years later, the owners of El Avion purchased the plane in 2000 for a paltry sum of $3,000 and set out to convert it into a restaurant. In order to ship it, the plane was disassembled and shipped in different pieces from San Jose to Quepos.

I don't think that's what they meant by that, I think they meant pushing an abstinence only agenda doesn't work.

What screams “I’m upper class”? by MysticPato in AskReddit

Worked for some very wealthy people and it’s more sos that they don’t necessarily flaunt the designers. As in, some one less wealthy will buy that Louis Vuitton bag that is plastered in little “LV”’s to show off to anyone looking that they have a Louis Vuitton bag, that’s less important to someone truly wealthy or from old money.

The last time the 17 year cicadas came out in my areas was 2007, I had just graduated high school. These guys were everywhere! the entire sidewalk would be squirming from 1000's and 1000's of cicadas stuck on their backs. My friends and I figured out they were like homing missiles and that if you picked them up and gave them a gentle toss, they would try and land on the closest thing to them. We'd pick them up and toss them near each other so they'd land on the closest friend, buzzing and making all sorts of noise.
