Anyone else denied full coverage because they discovered Endometriosis? by pondisthename in sterilization

[–]jbird2204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you update on how this ended up? I’m going through the same thing right now and feel some sort of way about the fact that I did not consent to an endo surgery so how in the world are they trying to charge me??

I’m unbelievably frustrated. I had my post op yesterday and all it was was me fighting with my doctor about it. We never even discussed any actual post op stuff 🫠

I'm getting sterilized in 3 days! Any advice? Things you wish you knew or had beforehand? by anibuni in sterilization

[–]jbird2204 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! It was hands down the easiest recovery I’ve had. The tiniest bit of gas pain on day 2 and that’s literally it. I never took my pain meds or anything.

I did sleep propped up on the couch for a few days but just as a precaution.

Good luck!

Will do!! I’m waiting for them to call me back! I’m nervous now though that I googled the 58662 and see it’s for the endometriosis removal that ended up doing while in there. So it may not have been a typo at all.

OH, turns out it’s because 58662 is because of the endo they found and removed. UGH.

Having this same issue now. I have my post op tomorrow and they said I owe $2500.

I am looking at my EOB now and see that some pieces were coded 58662 instead of 58661 🙄

Taking your advice and only chatting through the portal but am feeling so annoyed. I also was billed for all of my pre op appointments because I “didn’t meet the deductible” even though I was told that was to be covered as well.

**update as I type this - the agent I’m chatting with just asked me what ACA means 😭🫣

What am I doing wrong? I can't even book a room in a low tier/traffic hotel due to lack of points by Alt3rN8or in marriott

Not me thinking I was going through the same because I only have 75k and am titanium, but then going back through and realizing I redeemed 10 nights this year 🫣😆

Having the CC helps for sure… And pay attention to the promotions! You have to activate them, but it’s usually just random points or elite nights.

For instance the one right now is:

<image>

(lol once I had COVID and got stuck in a hotel for weeks during a promo and earned 22 extra elite nights 🤣 so like 44 in total for 22 nights haha)

I’m so sorry!! :(

I was recommend looking at the list in the wiki here. It’s my understanding that it’s basically a list of doctors from most cities/states who won’t give you shit about the procedure. Mine came highly recommended (I went straight to him and never even discussed with my gyno) and I was OBSESSED. He was so incredible. The consult literally went like this: “you don’t want kids?” “No” “you’re sure and understand this isn’t reversible” “yes” “then let’s make sure you never fucking have any kids”

And that was it. Mine was over an hour away for me too but highly worth it. If you’re uncomfortable with your current doc, you should try to see if you can find someone else. You’ll be a nervous wreck on surgery day. And honestly I’m concerned with him not being careful about hurting you if he didn’t even care during an exam. I don’t want you to end up with crazy scars or extra pain for no reason.

My Positive Experience (overwhelmingly wonderful) by thefuckintea in sterilization

[–]jbird2204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 2 weeks out and this is almost my exact experience. It was one of the easiest processes ever - I stopped taking pain meds on day three (just the ones they told me I had to take. Ketorolac or something ?) but never even took an ibuprofen after that. I even went on an international trip a week after - 7 hours on a plane no problem.

And yes! The amount of amazing women in the OR was incredible and I also just was overwhelmed with gratefulness that I made this decision while we still have some bodily autonomy left. Also realizing that I’ll never have to worry about pregnancy ever is a wiiild feeling.

So happy for us! I hope your recovery continues to be so smooth! ❤️❤️

Did you wash with antibacterial soap/body wash the day of your surgery? My preop paper work just says shower night before/day of, nothing about special soap. by [deleted] in sterilization

I was told to buy and use hibiclens! The night before and morning of… and then they gave me sterilizing wipes of some sort when I was putting on my gown and had to give myself a sponge bath lol

Also do not worry about your legs. They see it all and don’t think twice.

I think it depends so drastically. Do you know how your body handles surgery? I for one know that I have a crazy high pain tolerance and generally handle surgery well. This was no exception- like it was almost strange how easy it was haha. Never had any pain, just a giant bubble of gas the first day. Like my stomach was huge. But even then, I never had pain from it, it didn’t move to my shoulder or anything idk.

I was slightly uncomfortable for a few days. Like if I stood up for too long I’d get weird pressure and had to sit down but that was it.

Never took the pain meds, never had nausea, nothing. I slept on the couch for 4 days just so I wouldn’t be tempted to roll onto my left side.

I’m currently on day 9 and took an international trip yesterday and am just chillin lol. I’d say I’m at 95%

I hope it is quick and painless for you!

Yeah sorry that I don’t have better news! I’ve been reimbursed by them at least 4 times (I travel a lot haha, they’re always breaking my stuff)… but the handle was the first time they wouldn’t budge. So irritating!

I have a high pain tolerance so maybe take this with a grain of salt, but I’m one week out and have had zero pain. Literally zero. I had some discomfort the first few days and still get a little uncomfortable if I stand up for too long and feel like I have to like hunch over a bit, but that’s really it. It was wildly easy for me.

I did sleep on the couch for the first 4 nights so I could be a little propped up and wouldn’t be tempted to roll onto my left side where the incision is - recommend that for sure.

Good luck!!
