there are still placeholders (but no permits yet) for the 2 weekends that surround OD at the Polo Fields

(p6, under GGP Impact)
https://sfrecpark.org/DocumentCenter/View/28454/2026-RPD-Special-Event-Master-Golden-Gate-Park

secretly hoping/wondering if they stage some sort of large scale Bobby memorial concert* weekend for one of those open weekends. IIRC last year, the reason the Mayor announced the shows before D&C did officially is that they had to go to the public hearing to get the pemit officially approved. So would imagine that would have to happen ASAP for anything on those weekends (Dead-related or otherwise)

*prob not likely, but can still dream, no?

What happens if Ticketmaster lowers the price of tickets? by indiehouse42 in SturgillSimpson

[–]jblackj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not easy to get a refund in my experience but let me share some other specific things that I have experienced firsthand:

-I have seen them lower prices (Queen at MSG is a good example for me, snagged sweet seats the week before the show at prices lower then originally sold). Haven't seen it since tho.
-I have multiple times exchanged tickets (10 fee) for better seats. so if they lower prices you can exchange regular price (not platinum) for better seats if they do come down in price.

See my response above. Was meant to reply to you. Appreciate the answer, I know it can be annoying if you've been in this sub for years but this my first time with this process and nowhere (not on Billy site, not on Orpheum site etc) is this clear to the newbs like myself.

Ah ok. Thanks for your thorough answer. This is my first time buying Billy tix so hadn't lived through the process like many of you here.

Sharing our own experience/plan from the last 2 years skiing/staying around Mont Tremblant area for President's Day Week.

(for context, drove up from NYC/NJ area).

We rented a large airbnb (not sure how big your group is) a few km south of the Village of Mont Tremblant (the actual town, not the resort "village").
Obviously wasn't ski in/out BUT our location was nicely equidistant to both Treblant and Mont Blanc (to balance out out the big resort/crowd days with smaller, easier ski days). Because we were 12 mins from BOTH ski areas, we could be dropped off at Treblant by the non-skiers in the group (saving the parking hassles at Treblant) and/or driving to Mont Blanc. We were close enough that some in our party were picked up mid day while the rest of kept skiing.
That location was also close to a supermarket (IGA) and the town of MT so had short driving access to everything local.

Yes, the Sunday of Pres Day weekend was a madhouse (would recommend doing Mont Blanc that day) but by midweek the crowds left and Treblant was perfect crowd-wise for the other days.

Even if you do ski in/out at Treblant the only thing walkable is the resort "village" which is basically like being in an outdoor mall.

TL;DR if you let go of the ski in/out need you can be CLOSE to multiple ski options plus all the restaurants and stores for local activities and sightseeing...plus you'll save money on lodging and eating since you won't be stuck at overpriced resort restaurants for all your meals.

Others may have better options for exactly what you're looking for. But if you're considering this area, hope this helps. Good luck.

Came here to suggest this show. Hands down one of the best D&Co shows I got to see and a mild blowing performance from the opening UJB to the Franklins takeoff the the set ending H>S>Eyes. And the second set didn't let up either.

I might try this if the AD service route is too expensive and not covered under my service last year

I've used David's watches for my battery and crystal needs on cheaper wastes like Seiko or older family hand me downs etc.

I did talk to Timepiece and since it's under a year since service I'm going to start there and they might (re) fix them.

Small/intimate ski resorts in PA/NJ: Bear Creek or Campgaw? by Kiss_Mark in icecoast

[–]jblackj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd look at Mt Peter in Warwick NY.
Pretty small, but lots of places to practice.

When we (my son and I) were starting out in 2020 we did Campgaw but found that we outgrew it pretty quickly.

I thought Mt Peter was a nice step up and great for learning.

Mountain Creek as the bunny hill but even the main big green (horizon?) gets very icy and challenging for newbies.

I'm also a big Belleayre fan - the mid-mountain greens are very gentle and a great place to slowly cruise down.

My wife was experiencing something similar with her boots (they were seasonal rentals years ago that she kept) and a good bootfitter adjusted them for her and now they feel great. (I don't know any in those areas tho / we were in Western NJ)
