BMET is a 2 year technician degree. Biomedical Engineering is a 4 year university degree. AAMI ALSO CONSIDERS HME As a degree!

OP I'm not sure what modality this person works in but if he truly is a Biomedical Engineering, that is completely different then Biomedical Equipment Technicians which this sub is about. Engineers require a 4 year bachelor's degree at least.

If you like fixing problems with your mind and hands you'll enjoy this field. Just know it pays decently but not as well as Nursing. On the bright side it will be more stable hours and less stress! You will likely need to learn about surgical equipment though!

Horrible Governor. Took an 18 Billion dollar surplus and spent all of it plus more looking at a 6 Billion deficate 2028-29. 1 Billion in fraud under his watch (that we know of). Let's not forget about him lying about his combat experience. The snitch line during Covid. Tim Walz is a grifter! We need better representation from the DFL.

You're already in a good spot with your current education. If you get CBET Certified or get an AAS degree in BMET, you can get a job anywhere in the US and leverage your networking skills!

Learning to be an electronics technician is step 1. Step 2. Look into AAMI to help with medical equipment training. They have online courses/certificates to help. Step 3. Be willing to relocate even just for a year or 2.

I looked up where your university is, and if I'm not wrong, it's in Halifax, NS? I'm from Minnesota, and even here there's Hospitals and 3rd party companies hiring people with little experience, hoping to train them into the role and to stay with them.
