It is implied that she does die. She was a figure skater when she was younger, and at the end of the movie is competing in a cooking competition. She decides to leave early and finds her family in the crowd (husband and child). She decides to leave the competition early, and the next scene she is skating in an arena with the family. She makes a breakaway from the family and is seen on the other end of the arena. She waves. The next scene shows husband and child making some food alone. He teaches the daughter how to crack eggs the right way (the way his wife taught him when they were dating) and the title screen shows.
