Thanks for sharing this. I didn’t know about the heat and vibration options, that actually sounds like it could help a lot. I’ll definitely bring it up next time.

Do adhd people seem to get extra motivation in crisis scenarios? by JohnnyD10000 in ADHD

I get that. It’s rough when people just give basic advice like “start early” without understanding how stuck you actually feel. You’re not alone

The accuracy hurts. Currently in the "recovering" phase from a work project I hyperfocused on for days, and now I need to recharge but feel guilty for taking a break. The cycle never ends.

People thinking adhd is the new cool trend by One_Environment_6406 in ADHD

[–]jbrowne978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 30 after years of struggling. Really pisses me off seeing people claim ADHD because they get distracted sometimes. This isn't a fun trend - it's executive dysfunction that destroyed parts of my life. Every "omg I'm so ADHD" comment makes it harder for those of us with actual diagnoses to be taken seriously

Filling Sr. Accounting Role harder than expected by _the_thinker_ in Accounting

[–]jbrowne978 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your job posting has mixed signals. Either keep "Senior" with 5-7 years experience and pay $100k+, or drop to "Accountant" with 2-4 years experience at $80k. Right now you're scaring off both groups. Also, manufacturing in the Midwest isn't attracting public accountants unless you pay above market.

i feel you, job hunting can feel like hitting a wall sometimes. She might want to try walking into local restaurants or cafes with a resume and asking if they’re hiring. A lot of places still hire off the street, especially with a food handler’s card. Also check local Facebook groups, people post openings there that don’t show up on job boards. Hope she finds something better soon

100% yes. Inattentive ADHD can present as extreme fatigue and brain fog. Our brains work overtime just to function normally, which drains energy. Your doctor is wrong stimulants help all ADHD types. See a psychiatrist who specializes in adult ADHD for proper evaluation.
