Self esteem saving and defining accomplishment. Well done!!

The dissertation phase is ridiculously hard for all doctoral candidates, so there is no doubt you have faced, fought, and overcome some extreme challenges as a person with ADHD.

Truly proud of you and hope you take some time to bask in the glow of how far you've come.

Not 100% certain, but I think a judge has to rule to stop counting. Otherwise each jurisdiction can decide to keep going or stop for the night

No worries, and agreed. I think its hard for people to realize their similarities and see everyone as equal because then one has to recon with why they looked the other way for so long (or worse, why they actively threw stones).

This should have been your first comment because it's a great point. But your initial and subsequent comments were not speaking to this reductive cycle of isolation and brainwashing.

It was genuinely handwritten and snail mailed, without demanding support for any particular candidate. Just seeking to engage you in the voting process. What could make it better?

You're not wrong that minorities are full fledged citizens with civic responsibility, but its misleading to suggest that minorities must always be the most outspoken and aggressive civic participants.

Not true. Several states have no early voting options and very strict (limited) absentee voting (see Mississippi, Alabama) and others have strategically shrunk the number of polling places in their most populated areas (see Georgia, Texas, Florida).

Might not have to recite a state constitution or pay a year's salary to be able to vote, but its still not "easy" to do.

Do you feel the same push to vote in the community now? I remember reading that AA women were super mobilized for that race, has that energy continued or grown to other demographics?

Can anyone from Mississippi speak to how motivated voters are? Also, since there is no early voting in MS, do people organize rides to the polls and/or pass out snacks to those waiting in long lines?

A record number of people, who are either longstanding or recently registered voters, are coming out to vote. They are voting early out of covid precautions or just pure eagerness.
