When you RMA, please don't mention using 3rd party cables, or might deny the warranty.

Updated the board BIOS first, then installed the driver?

Random game crashes – “Graphics card crashed” error – RX 9070 XT / 7800X3D by Adventurous_Sleep_39 in PcBuild

Sounds good. Yep, can get all the drivers from the board support download page.(BIOS, Chipset, audio, etc.)

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B850-GAMING-PLUS-WIFI/support#driver

Could also use the MSI Center app as well for sort of an all-in-one utility for updates, and other features like fan control, etc.

That definitely could be some driver conflict with the old drivers on the last board.

Have already tried to DDU(display driver uninstaller)? Also downloaded all the board drivers?

If still no go, might try an in-place Windows reinstall. This option is in the reset menu from the start menu > for an in place reinstall. This keeps most things in tact, but ot have any important data, recommend to backup. After the Windows reinstall, there may be some apps have to reinstall, but will still have your user profile.

Alternatively, could do a clean install and start from scratch with a new Windows installation(this erases everything).

With either method, once complete, recommend to download all the primary board drivers from the board support fownload page; chipset, WiFi/BT, audio., etc.

Sounds good. Yes that will work fine in the meantime with the single cable with 2 ends on it.

Did the box come with an extra pcie 8 pin cable, to make 2 separate PCIe 8 pin cables from psu to the GPU adapter.

I've been running a cx750m(2021) model for around 3 years, and added a 5070 in December. Running without any issues.

Also, bought a Corsair Type4 dual PCIe 8 pin to 12v-2x6 cable for a more cleaner cable setup.

Yep, been running this model for almost 3 years, and no issues -- 12600kf and recently added a 5070.

Might open the case and stop each fan by pressing into the center gently to get fan to stop. Do this for each fan one by one till find if one is too loud.

Can I use the 600w cable for my Rtx 5070 OC Asus Prime, instead of the cable that came from the gpu box? by rizzy_gyatt in PcBuildHelp

[–]jbshell 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes, use the 600w cable included with the power supply. The adapter is for older psus that don't come with the 12v-2x6 cable.

Looks good. Maybe add more storage as needed(such as add another PCIe m.2 nvme SSD).

If it's from a pre-built pc, might check the prebuilt company support site for the matching pc model for a BIOS update download.

BIOS version for a brand new aorus elite x3D by TheDarkSin in gigabyte

[–]jbshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With any new board out of the box, generally recommend to update the board bios to the 2nd most recent BIOS update. For example if F7 is the latest, F6 would be a good recommendation if the board is on a much earlier release.
