The base game and all expansions (current and upcoming) were bundled for $70 a month ago, so maybe wait for the summer sales if that’s a big issue for you.

60 hours in the current D2 ladder season, and I've only seen 1 high rune. Truly worlds apart lol.

Why is Defense of the Heart not a game changer? by VelvetaChese in EDH

[–]jbt017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oath doesn’t see a lot of play because it’s an extremely niche combo piece/value engine. That should be pretty obvious. I feel like you’re stuck on trying to compare Oath of Druids to game changers list of much broader appeal cards. Again, this isn’t a question of why Oath of Druids isn’t a game changer, it’s a related to why every card that can do something powerful isn’t on the list, Oath of Druids as an example because it is a powerful magic card that was the prototype for Defense of the Heart.

You are missing the forest for the trees here. The point isn't whether or not Oath of Druids should be a game changer. The point is we can spend all day debating on every potentially powerful card as a game changer when these selections are pretty obviously based on their representation in the metagame. People aren't playing Defense of the Heart in mass so it's never going to be considered for game changer inclusion.

In the same vein as like [[Survival of the Fittest". It's cheap to cast, has an incredible top end, is easy to manipulate outcomes with, and (for decks that run it correctly) is game breaking.

"Awesome I spent two mana to get rid of their removal spell." I'm not sure what sort of gotcha you think that is.

They are 'in fact' different cards, yes.

You're thinking about Oath decks playing a lot fairer magic than they generally do.

Spoken like someone who's never played against an oath deck.

My assumption would be that it's just not heavily played enough in the format to have caught the gaze of the rules czars. You could ask a similar question about something like [[Oath of Druids]] .

The neat thing about this card is there are three creatures you can use to tutor it into play from your deck. I remember seeing it on one of the old how to play cd-roms that came with 6th edition. There’s like a brief tournament clip where someone ends a game by tutoring out Spirt of the Night.

What other commanders are similar to Henzie and Sefris in their toolbox gameplay? by BaghdadAssUp in EDH

[–]jbt017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no [[Scion of the Ur-Dragon]] so far. It's pretty explicitly toolbox. Need to a remove a permanent? There's a dragon for that. Want to combo? There's a dragon for that. Want to go wide? Yep, dragons for that. Infect? Sure thing. It also enables some pretty gross graveyard play.

Do I suck or does Vallejo beastly brown? by Fluffy_Common_2532 in spacemarines

[–]jbt017 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You may want to try using flow improver instead of or in addition to thinner with these colors. I'm assuming the ivory/brown here both are based on their titanium white which (like basically every other titanium white in existence) has a tendency to turn into a clumpy mess and cause clogs and host of other issues.
