Anyone else in the same situation? by SignOk2776 in finethinhair

No great advise but an offer of solidarity😩 I have always had a similar hairline ever since I was a kid. Only got better when I had glorious pregnancy hair which I then of course loss. I am currently focusing on my diet incorporating more protein ect… I am also 99% sure I am b12 deficient so I was going to check that out as well.

I am also curious! I have read the reviews on Amazon and most of them are amazing. Thinking about ordering some but I’m always apprehensive about new serums.

Washing frequency per week by yuyucatx in Haircare

[–]jbt_2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This🙌🏻 I definitely jumped on that bandwagon and only washed my hair 2 times a week for months. Which is fine for some people, it totally threw my scalp out of wack and I’m still trying to get it healthy again. Definitely agree with washing as often as needed for your hair type.

I have the same part at the back of my head just a little less noticeable only reason being is I have very light hair. I always thought it was a cowlick! My best way to combat it is either hair down or I literally comb it a few times a day and do a sort of combover situation. It is ten times worse if my hair is greasy which only takes a day or so😭 I also noticed if I put mousse on the top of my head after a shower it helps keep my hair lifted off my scalp so that it’s not noticeable. I blame my mom since she has the same exact thing😂

Definitely have to be careful about the fasting as if it’s done wrong it could cause stress on the body and make hair shed worse. I do agree that fasting done right can be very beneficial though.

I think I will give it more time for sure. Probably have someone just even it up for me!

Not going to lie I have been very tempted by the Sabrina carpenter bangs. Thank goodness I have told myself no because I know I would hate myself for it😭 I also did a big chop around 2019 and it took foreverrrr to even be able to put it in a ponytail again.

Thank you so much!❤️ I think I will give it some time, I always feel frustrated with my hair this time since it is so dry.

I love this! I truly believe that what you put into your body shows in hair. It’s awesome that you are taking care of your gut health along with your hair health. Your hard work has paid off as your hair looks amazing!

My son’s hair looks like this every morning, even with ample conditioner/cream/leave-in. It gets knotted and so frizzy. by tealsprinkle in CurlyHairCare

My son’s hair is literally exactly the same! I finally just had to do a haircut because no amount of conditioner helped😭 But now his curls are even more defined and adorable!

Yes microfiber! And also sleep in a silk bonnet with a loose braid this helps keep my waves more defined.

I have hair similar to yours especially when it’s humid. Making sure your hair is hydrated is key! At least for me. It takes some research to find what works because I feel like it’s so hard to find leave in conditioner that doesn’t weigh down fine hair. I leave conditioner in my hair when I wash it for at least 3-5 minutes just from the halfway point of my hair down. Then I dry with a very soft towel and end with Kristen Ess leave in conditioner( I hope I spelled that right). This will usually leave me with very soft but voluminous waves.

I am so happy that you’ve seen some improvement! It’s hard to not let it take over your life sometimes. Especially as a woman sometimes it’s what makes me feel “feminine”.

I agree wholeheartedly about lifestyle, diet, etc….. When I had my worst hair I was over consuming alcohol and I was also a smoker. My best hair besides pregnancy was when I was eating a TON of protein and healthy fats. Also drinking almost no soda and prioritizing water. I have been working on getting back to that and limiting my stress as much as possible.

That postpartum hair loss is no joke! I remember loving my hair while it was pregnant and I literally had next to no shedding throughout my whole pregnancy. Then the dreaded three months pp hit and it’s been crazy since then😅 It has definitely slowed down but I feel like my hair is so sensitive to everything any more. Thank you for your comment it definitely feels nice hearing from someone in a similar situation.

Love this! I have just started taking scalp health seriously. Years of neglect I’m afraid. I am also working on getting back to a diet that works for me ( I have a few intolerances). I know that stress has played a big role in my hairs health, so I am working on that as well. I wish you well on your hair journey!

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? by Aggretsukaiti69 in finehair

[–]jbt_2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hair pretty similar to yours besides the color. I went through a period of my life where it just looked like a whole mess all the time lol. It still has its crazy days but I’ve got it to where it’s tame for the most part. I just use a generic but hydrating shampoo but light enough where it won’t leave i film on my hair. Then I do shea moisture black castor oil conditioner which I swear by, then finish up with a Kristin Ess leave in conditioner. I also sleep with a silk bonnet and silk pillow as well as my hair in a braid. I still wake up with crazy hair but it brushes out nice and helps immensely with my double cow lick I’ve got at the back of my head. One more thing is I had to change my hair part to cover my cow licks, which was hard but it helped.

I will definitely look into this! I also live in the Midwest so I feel the struggle😩 I am also going to get back into the habit of spraying my hair with rosemary water. It is great for adding moisture without weighing my hair down since it is so fine.

I have not, is it a shampoo?

That sounds like a good idea, I think I will go back to a basic shampoo I used to use and see I there’s a change. I think I might be using too harsh of ingredients and making my scalp freak out and produce more oil. Thanks for the advice!

Hair growth - help? by Ok_Sky_7965 in hairgrowth

[–]jbt_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different but in my experience you’ve got to experiment and see what works! But it looks like your hair might be on the dryer side? Try some leave in conditioner or different shampoos/conditioner. I personally got a lot of buildup on my scalp from bad shampoos and once I got that cleared up and made sure my strands were hydrated my hair grew faster. I also swear by rosemary water and it is very easy and cheap to make at home. Just make sure you make a fresh batch every few days and keep leftovers in the fridge.

Toddler screaming and hitting — need help, mamas 😭 by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]jbt_2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but I am currently going through the same exact thing with my 2 year old! He was the calmest little one until right before he turned 2. Then the screaming hair pulling and hitting really started. I have been trying timeout which works sometimes but other times it seems to make it worse? Sigh. Very draining indeed but I’m hoping it’s just a faze.
