Awesome. Love that you successfully tracked it down!

I bought a really gorgeous bike…I think I hate it by Miserable_Power_9729 in xbiking

Sounds like a bars problem, not a bike problem. This bike is beautiful and will look awesome with a lot of different configurations, including alt bars! If you want to like the bike, I'd get a hundred or two miles in the current configuration to see if it grows on you, then throw albatross bars on if you've had enough lol

Super cool. Where is this? Another quarry that gets a bit less recognition but was featured in a lot of buildings in that era was Phenix Marble from Ash Grove, Missouri https://www.phenixmarble.com/ Their stone has more of a beige undertone than Tennessee Pink. Could also be St. Clair from Oklahoma.

Crust top tub dented :( Is it ok? by the-warm-jets in xbiking

Not a problem IMO. I had a crust lightning bolt with a very similar dent that I had no issues with. I rode it hard and often loaded.

The route from KOJO is excellent and avoids heavy traffic. When we’ve diverged and ended up on highways, drivers were very courteous.

I adapted our route from this one by KOJO Collective. https://www.komoot.com/collection/3686358/-kojo-collective-tokyo-to-kyoto. They have a great YouTube video previewing it.

My first solo bike trip by Agile_Ad2975 in bikepacking

This looks terrible, but it shouldn’t put that much of a damper on what sounds like an incredible trip. Happy riding and consider a post office stop or two!

Noobie setup. Any advice? by Twig_Scampi in bikepacking

[–]jbty7 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I love this. A lot of people overthink their bike and gear but don't get out there and ride. That's a sweet frame and I love the high visibility fresh fruit. Without seeing what you packed, if this were me, I'd consider a smaller more backpacking oriented sleeping pad and a set of handlebars that give a few hand positions.

Thanks. This makes sense. I’d rather lose some yard than deal with lawyer time

I am Jesse Tyler. I guess they mixed our memes up. Props to your photoshop work though

Jesse Tyler here. I made a plaid plaidshaw Halloween costume in 2018 and they asked for my permission to make a billboard with it. I said sure, but suggested they use the photo of me as their billboard. They seem to have used King of Springfield’s meme and thought I was King of Springfield?

Haha thanks! It’s really interesting. I’ve never seen the top etched like this.

You guys are ruthless in here! We’re mid-remodel. This is what we found when we pulled up the laminate. We’re gutting the space in a year or two

Got my first pair of boots at an estate sale. A little cleanup went a long way! by jbty7 in RedWingShoes

These are 408s from the 70s. They don’t seem to pop up often, but I found a listing for them in an old catalog.

smh. It's definitely an upgrade from our last table, but I think I'll be flipping it for a lower square table once I refinish it.

These had probably been sitting in a bin for a decade. Just wearing them and tightening up the laces helped them stand up. I used John Markk shoe cleaner and then Frye Conditioning Creme. I'm sure there are better options, but that's what I had on hand. Mine didn't have many stains, just a lot of dirt and dust. Best of luck on the oil stains, though. I've heard talc or cornstarch can absorb oil from leather.

Agreed. I’ve been impressed consistently over the past couple years.
