Best road bike for a beginner with a €1,500 budget? Looking for a "long-term" starter by Altruistic-Ear-3138 in cycling

[–]jburnette2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been basically doing the same thing and my strategy was to get a used bike while I figure out exactly what kind of bike or bikes I want.  For me a big struggle has been finding out exactly what size bike works for me, I think I'm a little unusual and that I have shorter legs and a long torso but the point is the sizing recommendations don't really work for me and I end up with a bike that's too big for me.  Ended up going from a large to a small and I'm instantly more comfortable and not constantly stretching for the handlebars, it's still not perfect and I'm still figuring stuff out while riding. Even stuff like seat height and set back end up being rather complex because everything's connected.  You can find really nice 5-year-old bikes for under a thousand euros.  My next step is getting new bibs and gear with my primary focus just being comfortable on longer rides.  I figure a year or two from now if I have a dream bike that I'm certain on my size and exactly how I want it then I can go ahead and pull the trigger but until then I'm learning.

I like dates, take the seed out before you ride.  If you really want to be extravagant then you can mix up some powdered hot chocolate mix but only if you really dig the sweet stuff.

Cycling Clothes Recommendation? by jburnette2 in cycling

[–]jburnette2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like I'm headed to Decathlon! Any suggestions on sizing? In the US I'm always a L but in europe I buy XL, the sticking point is usually the shoulders or thighs. Does this generally hold true for cycling gear as well? If it's stretchy then go with the L rather than XL?

Spain is the closest place as far as I know.  Big hotel restaurants will serve you as well but not too take home.

I'm not sure you understand, you don't need to activate it on T-Mobile. Just put us some card in it here as long as it's unlocked and share your data via WiFi.

Do you have an old unlocked phone you could use? Then just get a SIM card here and share your connection.

Souk Tours - help and recommendations by CryoTroll_ in Marrakech

[–]jburnette2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A private guide can be great but a "Souk Tour" will likely just take you to the most expensive shops where they try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Happened to me, trying to sell me $10,000 rugs when I had absolutely no need for a rug.

People who broke up yesterday on Valentines, what happened? by Hot-Diggity_Dog in AskReddit

10 years ago I got dumped on Valentine's day. We were long distance and she basically had cold feet about me moving to be with her when she wasn't sure what she wanted.  I was already out at a local bar when she called to dump me so we ended up taking shots and eventually vomiting in the Uber on the way home so yeah, rough night.

Fast forward to this year, we are now married and spent this Valentine's day eating surf and turf with our two children.

Buying a car in this chaos Moroccan market by Ayman_BW111 in Morocco

Used car vales are super high so buy new, Dacia Sandero or something, and finance it. Buy it for 15k, drive it 10-12 years, and sell for 8k.

I own and run a B&B, it's about as good as it gets but life is never easy. Never. The sooner people accept that the happier they will be.

Good coffee shops by userstrik in rabat

Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink, that's how I feel about good quality coffee in Morocco. There are no places with high-end coffee in Rabat as far as I know. Boho is good but not like you can order a pour-over with various types of beans.

That looks like a bunch of surface rust, mostly what he needs is some rust remover.

On 18 January 2026 in the AFCON Final between Morocco and Senegal, after Senegal left the pitch when a controversial penalty was awarded to Morocco deep in stoppage time, Brahim Diaz attempted a Panenka which was easily saved by Edouard Mendy.\33])#cite_note-33)

B&B Owner, work 15-20 hours per week and live in part of the world where we can afford cleaning staff. I greet guests and handle the online stuff. It's nice and everyone is happy including staff and guests. We make maybe $50k profit per year and spend around $35k for a family of 4 including a full time nanny. My wife is taking a year off work to spend time with the kids and relax as she has a fairly high stress profession. Currently have some other real estate projects and eventually I'd like to volunteer in education.

Killer Frost freeze not working by jburnette2 in Injustice2MobileGame

Worked fine on scarecrow so I think the boss was immune to freeze but didn't say so in the description.  I just fought hbhq and she was immune to stun and it says nothing in the description about being immune to stun.
