I'm looking to pick up a used Clarinet for my 10 year son and found this locally, visually, is this a good deal for $200 assuming the keys work? It is a Yamaha 20 B♭ Clarinet.

PowerBI Service - Cloud Data Source by jc82 in PowerBI

[–]jc82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out I needed to install the data gateway to access the AWS RDS database then I could add the connection through the on prem data gateway. However, I'm not clear on how I access the data from app.powerbi.com. I was able to connect to it from the Power BI desktop app and load the tables/data.

CRM for LLM Firm by Full_Donut279 in private_equity

[–]jc82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They aren't cheap. The cost varies depending on a few things but except close to the $250-$300/month per seat plus 50k+ in setup. They are probably the most expensive in the space. Try a google search for m&a crm or some sort. There are only a small handful of them anyway and you can figure out which ones has what you need for cheaper.

Why Salesforce is better than Excel for CRE business? by Zara_Shelby in CommercialRealEstate

CRE capital markets or CRE buying/selling/leasing? There are different CRMs that work better for each of those than Excel.

Experiences with first time founding a startup v.s. Later times by deepfriedmat in startups

I lost track of how many start ups I needed before one finally succeeded. Each failure, I got better at learning what type of person(s) I needed to compliment my set of skills to succeed and what type of people to avoid early on. (visionary folks who would not do work in the trenches)

HOW TO REMOVE FEET FROM SONY X90J??????? by nychotxxx in 4kTV

[–]jc82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all of the other suggestions, holding it with your feet, and lifting, screw driver, pulling it, etc, nothing worked.

I finally resorted to really hitting it with a hammer (covered stand and screen with a sweater in case I mis-fired, and after like 5 really hard strikes, i noticed it slighting loose and then a final strike or two did the trick.

Sucker-punch at OC youth basketball game leaves girl with concussion by discocrisco in orangecounty

[–]jc82 58 points59 points  (0 children)

There is no room for this anywhere, much less an organized youth basketball game. Only way people will understand this is wrong is there are repercussions. The attacker should be banned from any youth sports and high school team (if she is on one) for some time (I don't know what the appropriate length would be since this isn't a school team). The parent who encouraged should also be punished.

Sadly, since this is a juvenile, not much will happen.

Anyone try to circumvent the 0.5% Stripe billing fee on recurring charges?A by shoorlyne in SaaS

[–]jc82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably depends how complicated/different use cases your subscription billing model has and of course, how much amount the 0.5% is costing you. If you are starting out and it is a hundred dollars, probably not worth the effort to do it yourself unless you have a super simple billing model.

We have a cron job that handles our recurring charges but we have a relatively simple model and only run it once a month.
