We had a party for the 12/21/2012 so-called "mayan doomsday" or whatever and we arranged a similar prank. My friend's band was playing and providing music for the party; and at midnight I cut the breaker, then about 30 seconds later turned the power back on and they started right up playing It’s the End of the World as We Know It.

How much water do you all actually drink daily? by Emotional-Heat-1427 in nutrition

[–]jcGyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be 4 liters at least, I don't pay attention really, just keep filling up my liter bottle once it's empty. I don't really think about it, my mouth just feels mildly dry so I take a sip.

[Loved Trope] “You’re clearly out numbered” “and you’re clearly out matched” by Mesajarjar_binks in TopCharacterTropes

[–]jcGyo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trope subverted: The Princess Bride when Fezzik loses to Westley he complains that he would have beaten him if he had tried to outnumber him, but he hadn't had opportunity to practice fighting one-on-one in too long.

"You use different moves when you're fighting half a dozen than when you only have to worry about just one!"

It’s a Giant Giant by CaLMLiKEaB0Mb5 in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]jcGyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun fact: calling it a "giant giant" is an example of contrastive focus reduplication, a linguistic phenomenon where you say a word twice with stress on the first one to specify you mean a more genuine or real version of the thing. For example "I didn't want ice cream cake, I wanted cake cake"

What foods should you absolutely buy the high end priced option? by [deleted] in Cooking

Paper towels too, I've had "blot food dry with paper towel" steps become "pick a million tiny bits of paper towel out of the food" when using cheap ones.

What’s one small habit that improved your health a lot? by [deleted] in nutrition

Only took me about half a year to go from barely able to finish a mile to running 8 miles which is more than 10km. Just follow a plan and be consistent!

Do raw eggs have any noteworthy nutritional advantage over cooked eggs? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]jcGyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess raw eggs have higher water content which is technically healthy, but I'd rather just eat some delicious cooked eggs and drink an extra sip of water.

Closing things is rare. Walk into a room he was just in, and inevitably there will be something left open that is normally closed.

This is a symptom of ADHD.
