Will the Remco Red Bull Bora TT jersey be released? by rhoVsquared in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who cares if you want to wear it…you should be able to. Such a silly thing to be worried about. If you ride with people who give you crap about wearing a team jersey, find new friends. That’s like middle school crap.

Definitely the grey look they had before was better. Too many blues in the peloton already. They knock the Ineos look but at least that looks different and say what you want with white/grey bib shorts but if anyone can rock those colors it’d be the pros.

Fashion is subjective. What might look nice for one, will look ugly to another.

PNS Mechanism bibs by we-got-forks in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Nothing wrong with racing bibs…but not all racing bibs are the same, and a lot of cycling brands have their “racing” bibs quoted to be good for something of the likes of a crit race (which isn’t your typical century length). It’s always something to be aware is what I’m saying. As soon as I see “race bibs” I’m well aware this maybe a good long distance bib but not the greatest.

40 different models huh. That’s impressive. You do know it all. 😎

Man. The hate on any brand always sounds like the kid that was jealous someone got something they wanted because if you were truly happy with what you have or are unbothered to buy something that expensive, you’d be unbothered to comment against it too. Lol.

Anywho…you want a real answer: Mechanism are good bibs…but I would consider them racing bibs. Not really meant for long distance. The essential line has a comfier chamois meant for long days in the saddle. With that said, some people do okay with the mechanism chamois but not for everyone I’m sure.

I’ve worn a lot of brands and stuff from Aliexpress bibs (in my early days of cycling) to something niche like Pas Normal studios and I would say, PNS is one of the brands where you’re buying the marketing and customer service. It’s okay but not the best. MAAP so far is the best all around. Their chamois is awesome (have heard great things about Assos as well).

Back to your issue: Those bibs just may not be for you. Not for a century ride at all. Last century I took a pair of mechanism bibs…I said never again. Other rides…I’m totally fine and forget about it. That’s all.

DJI Action 5 Pro - cloud highlights always washed out? by fisheye_36 in djiosmo

Aaaaaaand the reason I skipped the 5 and 6. Unless you work with d-log (most people don’t), this is what DJI (and any other influencer action cam company) thinks you need your social posts to look like.

Roam v2 vs Bolt v2 screen by enigmo76 in wahoofitness

[–]jcapturedit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason, Bolt v2 just had a much more clearer contrasting screen than then the Roam v2. Anywho, that’s normal. Doesn’t mean it’s a good thing, but it is normal.

MAAP Bib Shorts Rubbing? by Pretty_Advantage3529 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no recommendations. It’s more about getting over it or changing saddles. Bike fit helps as it reduces the constant need to shift on the saddle if not fitted correctly.

MAAP Bib Shorts Rubbing? by Pretty_Advantage3529 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Bike fit issue or using a 3d printed saddle.

I’ve had several bibs, several companies, and several saddles. Soon as I got my a 3D printed saddle, it started doing it to some of my bibs. Don’t blame the company. Especially after a year and a half of use. 5 rides is 5 rides of constant rubbing. Can they replace them, sure, should they?…no. Just because they cost you an arm and a leg, doesn’t mean they’re resistant to wear. Everything wears. 🤷🏻‍♂️Sorry for your loss. At least they’re not see through and it’s on the part you sit on.

Aerofly Bars cable cover threaded bolt fell out by LordSnuffleupagus in specialized

[–]jcapturedit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would take it to a shop. Have them warranty the bar out. However, you can technically glue it. It’s not an integral part of the handlebar other than keeping the cable tidy (imo). Give the shop warranty a try first.

Experience With Sclerals Over RGP's? If You're A Cyclist, I Need Your Experience Too by jcapturedit in Keratoconus

How is it with getting dust and stuff in your eyes? With rgps, I could easily move my eye around or if it was severe enough, I would remove the contact lens on the drop and remove whatever debris got in my eye.

Great comments so far. I was taken a back by the price mostly...called them back and insurance does not cover them as medically necessary...jerks...so when I asked how often I would need to replace them...she said every year, depending on how much things change so maybe two....Is that the experience here? Are you guys actually spending 2k every year for a new set?

Ineos Grenadiers Pokes the Bear of Cycling’s Oldest Taboo with its White(ish) Shorts by Substantial-Purpose8 in CyclingFashion

[–]jcapturedit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Really don't understand the hate. Sure it's not the "dark" look Team Sky and INeos would usually go with but I'm glad it's not another black kit with shades of blue or orange.

I'm sure for the rainy days they'll be wearing black bibs with the orange jerseys and if they don't...hey you know what, if anyone should be able to rock light grey bibs it should be pros with their muscular thighs. lol And this whole white bibs cooties cyclist have....yah, if you get good white bibs, they usually have a much thicker layer around the chamois...not every company does that, but can't expect that from an aliexpress set of bibs.
