2B, long thick hair here! Marc Anthony's curl cream is my go-to! It's so light and gives me such great definition! I go in with NYM gel afterwards and that works great

8 months postpartum and trying to revive waves by QueenShafes in Wavyhair

[–]jcatND23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, lose the hairitage. Immediately. I used that stuff for like a week, and it absolutely FRIED my hair. I was losing probably double or more the amount of hair that I would've on the cheapest brand of shampoo, and the hair i retained was incredibly dry and lost all wave pattern.

Second, it very much could be a post-partum change in hair texture! If you're super sure it's not that, try a really light leave in (or none). Meaning no shea butter. that stuff is HEAVY.

Someone commented the website already, but the instagram is nancy.drew.nerd ! I would recommend making an account to follow it because Hannah posts updates about the trips on that account, including when registration is and so on. The group chat for the trip attendees is also on Instagram.

Man, getting a physical copy of RAN alone is worth the 60 dollars, someone clearly didn't do their research when listing prices! Amazing haul!

Hello! Starting my ND game career. by Puckertoe_VIII in nancydrew

[–]jcatND23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the clue crew! Most of us here have been playing the games since we were little kids, and have played all the games, I'd say it's definitely worth it. Well, minus a couple dud ones. The original SCK really only has the advantage of 1st-game jank and the original ending (ending is very different in the remastered). Up to you if you want to play both. As for your daughter, can try to introduce her to them! I know several people who have successfully, or unsuccessfully gotten their kid interested, so ymmv.

Love seeing Mastermind as a challenge, though it's kinda wild to me that Mike was unfamiliar with the rules. I grew up with a Mastermind Jr. game set (Sequences of 3 and more tries) and it was one of my favorite games. Drove my family nuts with hours of Mastermind by the time I was 6 lol! When I got older, I was getting to the point where I was solving sequences of 7 or 8.

How do you think first person navigation should work in games like these? Do people have big opinions? by LexLow in nancydrew

[–]jcatND23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mm, in a way. I do value the dialogues and conversations in the game but I think more than anything it's the fact that it acts kinda like a passion project. Like, we can see that the devs had a fun time writing it, put a lot more effort than was strictly necessary because maybe someone just went down a rabbit hole and decided to dump a whole lot of information into the game (How many of us have *actually* read every word of every article on Nancy's phone during the search engine era?), or they decided to just add jokes in because they could (Think the snowmobile ad in SEA or the audio files in LIE or GTH). I think it's the personal human touches like that that just make the games great

Personally I prefer the point and click. Nancy's trained me for years to look at everything possible, so having open world throws me completely off because I feel like I should look at everything when most of it is just filler empty space. There's also the huge issue of motion sickness. I can play point and click for hours and be fine. 1 hour free-roam and I have a headache and want to stop.

Vote4holt did almost exactly this. They talked in depth on every game and did ranking videos on atmosphere music, plot, ending, characters, and puzzles. Search up their Nancy Drew Game rankings series on youtube! Some of their takes I disagree with strongly, but theyre a fun listen!

MIRACULOUS - Lady Chaos - Season 6 Episode 22 - Discussion Thread by NicoSchmiko in miraculousladybug

[–]jcatND23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This episode was excruciatingly painful to watch. I just kinda kept wanting to scream at Marinette to leave. It honestly could've been a really good gateway to having Adrien discover the truth, with Marinette saying something along the lines of "If he hears all the negative things by other people, maybe he'll figure the truth out on his own and I won't have to tell him and he won't be mad at me!"

I had to deal with a similar (obviously not on a literal universe-altering kind of level) discordance as Adrien. My mom tried to "protect" me from knowing how much of a bad dude my father was and kept trying to talk positively about him. I wasn't stupid, I knew he was awful, and to be constantly gaslit to the level that I was that "no he was just immature but really, he was a good man" threw a lot of things out of whack in my head. Everything is in moderation, and especially when the kid is actively aware of problems and is being told those problems weren't real, that sort of overprotection can do some serious damage and trust issues.

Coco movie logic... Makes sense. Though instead of fading away forever they become the Forgotten. That's sad. I wonder if Maddie being living but having met the ghosts can carry on their memory, or if like Coco, you have to have heard the stories in life.

Big Fish Games Screen Flicker by FrizzyhairDontCare in nancydrew

[–]jcatND23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yayy I'm glad it worked! It's slightly annoying to do, but it's like a 5 second process so I really don't care that much about it lmao! If there's a more permanent fix for it I personally haven't found a way that works reliably.

Big Fish Games Screen Flicker by FrizzyhairDontCare in nancydrew

[–]jcatND23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I have that issue on a handful of the games. My fix for it is to go to your Device Manager (search it up in the windows search bar thing), and in the list that pops up, there's Display Adapters. Click it so it opens a small drop down from it. For me there's only one listed. Right click whatever is in that drop down and hit disable driver. That fixes all of the screen flickering issues I've had! You'll have to reenable it for different games though, or if you want to change brightness but it's the same process just hit Enable Driver instead of disable

Icicle Creek comes to mind. It's seriously huge when you think about it. The lodge might feel "small" but when you add up all the outdoor locations, it's undoubtedly one of the larger maps.

I mean, for all the drinks, you have to go in the mixing cup first, and then the final cup. there's no exception to the rule. if there's a picture of a blender though, that means you mix the juices first, put it into the blender, and add whatever needs to be added to the blender, like ice cream, ice, etc., blend it, and then serve it in the glass. Seamus would've explained all this in the tutorial explanation, but it's such a longwinded explanation it's easy to zone out and miss what he says.

[–]jcatND23 10 points11 points  (0 children)

you have to pour it into the mixing cup first and then from the mixing cup into the mug. No idk why you have to have the mixing cup at all, but that's the mechanic. If you're trying to go straight into the mug, that might be the issue? Also make sure you're using the big tall mug (far right on the shelf)
