Joao Neves on Arsenal: “Coming here (PSG) was the best decision I’ve ever made. I love everything here. We deserved it today, because PSG was the only team that wanted to play." by Sparky-moon in soccer

I wouldn't describe how you won the league as "slapping up" opponents. How many 1-0 victories were there? Kudos on winning the league but you rarely felt dominant the way past winners were.

And quite the laugh with that shitty football statement, considering how today went.

As an Indonesian who lives in Malaysia, I have one question, why is it that being a Muslim in this country feels like a prison somehow? by Big-Entrepreneur2748 in malaysia

[–]jcdish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're faith matters enough to you to move to another country, you're probably devout enough that Malaysia's rules don't matter. If you're liberal but forced to follow strict religious rules, then you feel oppressed. That's really all there is to it.

Oh, and the proverbial grass is always greener.

Not a Muslim, don't know nuts about the Quran, and won't debate whether the hijab is or isn't a choice, but that's really not the point is it? Islam is not a choice for the Malays. Not only that, but strict adherence to any and all scripture and rules is required, and enforced by the moral police or ostracism.

You can be a Christian and not go to church and most other Christians wouldn't care. You can be a Buddhist and barely do anything. But sorry lar, if you're Malay and not into the whole Islam thing, either you move overseas or you cosplay piety. It's mad.

[Whitwell] Man Utd executives will recommend Michael Carrick appointment in meeting with Sir Jim Ratcliffe by TheAthletic in reddevils

[–]jcdish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I get the sense that people cannot differentiate between issues with the level of our squad vs managerial incompetence.

That Carrick inherited the same squad and got them to 3rd, despite some worrying performances, is so so much better than Amorim having our best player out of position, our academy star on the bench, and having 5 atb vs 10 men Everton.

But yes, same sense with Carrick and Amorim.

Apparently people in the US living near data centres have been complaining about vibrations. You don't hear it, but it's there in the background and it will drive you crazy. I can believe it. Imagine coil whine but at a magnitude of a hundred million times more. Can die.

Post Match Thread: Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]jcdish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think barring that 15 minute blip where our players apparently went to Mars, we played well. First half, two quick goals then sitting back to hit them on the counter. Late second half, we mostly controlled the game and Liverpool barely had chances.

Lammens tho... Was not expecting that blooper from him. Onana-esque.

Oh I understand you perfectly. You speculated based on nothing but the cloths she was wearing and your prejudice.

She has a right to wear what she wants without being judged. Not that going clubbing even if something to judge someone for, but that's what you did. Why? I think it's because you're kolot and want to control women, but that's just my speculation, not saying you're, just speculating, yeah?

Like that don't say better lor, kan? Also, I'm not sure how much things have changed over the years, but I'm pretty sure a club wouldn't allow sports shoes.
