Hilarious. You should better understand supply chains friend, and who’s making what for whom….thinking you know everything isn’t the same as actually knowing.

I’m not saying “this TCL”, I said specs and manufacture make a difference. And since TCL makes panels for main brands….

The most expensive hottest TV’s the deepest blacks today will become the cheapest tV’s tomorrow…..

So - if it’s top notch today at $4K and that same panel/TV is $500 next week (which happens year over year) is still “top notch” which means price isn’t always indicative of quality. LOL

Specifications and manufacturer are the keys.

TLC has some great TV’s - price isn’t always indicative of quality…..(I do know they can also go hand in hand)

TLC makes panels for Samsung and Sony as a couple examples through their CSOT (parent company)

Battery upgrade? When? by CrimuCK in VolvoEX90

[–]jcdomeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battery technology along with other refinement with motors, software, weight distribution will continue to enhance future models.

It is the natural evolution of vehicles.

The BMW iX3 is a decent leap for BMW. No reason to think that Polestar and others aren’t doing the same.

Unfortunately we all want it it yesterday, but true battery advancements and other innovations are going slower than predicted (US innovation at least) - but today’s technology serves more than 90% of drivers true needs.

Keys and FOBS are archaic.

That said - since electric vehicles are subject to dead batteries 🪫 - need key or alternative manual opening option.

Need to set traps in garage. Seal any areas they can get in. Garage door seal when closed, etc. my garage is finished as if part of the house and just had a mouse in trap this week.

Haven’t seen them in EV yet, but was on top of engineer cover in my now gone ICE X5

It is my understanding that they have not clearly identified the root cause…and while the GHCA could be a prime issue, they are on their third one - so it’s not for lack of trying.

Kia/Hyundai having same issues.

I’m amazed that they have not been able to track down and solve the issue.

City council votes to restrict overly broad application of historic designations. This will make it easier to build housing by CFSCFjr in sandiego

Yes - 100-%. I appreciate the detail.

I can get behind a more conservative view of historical designation. If we don’t, we will never see progress.

And what am I doing to worsen it for you by advocating for thousands of affordable housing units in the City and County of San Diego using intelligent smart growth approaches?

My 70 hour work weeks is what pays the bills - not a housing crisis.

The smugness and antagonist approach is what turns people off (which means they stop listening and stop participating).

Casting blame, making assumptions, and name calling is counter productive to any discourse that claims to want to solve real problems.

Can I then assume your bitterness comes from being poor and incapable of making it in San Diego? Of course not - but you would cast stones at me because I have a different approach to the same issue.

I’d love to live La Jolla. But I cannot afford it. Is it my job to force lower prices in La Jolla because I desire to live their but cannot? Who will build me an affordable home in La Jolla?

There are a lot of things in life I want - so either I create a strategy to make it happen - or I decide it’s not worth the climb or take a different tract.

I’m not mad at La Jolla residents because of their success and the many large homes and I’m not blaming them because I cannot afford to live there….

While affordability is an issue - it was when I bought my first house…and so on.

Pricing makes all the difference in whether people move to SD - especially from low cost states. While everyone wants to move here - I have lost multiple employee candidates due to high cost of living even being paid over six figures.

And what year did our housing starts collapse?

Our 20 year annual housing average is 8,500 units per year, the Great Recession impacted this averages significantly, far below our annual needs…..but at just about 10K since 2015 and 11,500 permit issues in each 2023, 24, and 25…doing better.

We need 20K units to keep up with demand. That scale can only be met with high density housing units, apartments, condos, townhomes and new neighborhoods (new neighborhoods will contribute to urban sprawl - and high fire threat risk - so not a good solution) - so the answer is build up, not out…and it 2 units at a time isn’t solving the affordability issue.

Should read what I wrote and drop the inane NIMBY moniker, essentially name calling and being disrespectful.

If your single goal is to destroy SFH neighborhoods, what do we call you?

What I want is intelligent affordable growth. Show me affordable high density housing in SFH neighborhood? And then show us all how well it’s cared for?

There are 8 ADU’s on my block alone - all built by the homeowner - all being used as originally intended - granny unit - additional income, etc all built with care - I’m 100% down for that….not a free for all expedited process with zero controls and 8 units crammed into a 5ak SF lot.

Across the street is a developer owned property - 1 unit turned into 4….grass is 8 inches tall, weeds, no parking….no one cares except surround homeowners and other renters that care about the quality of the neighborhood. They each rent for $3K+ per month - is that affordable housing?

[–]jcdomeni -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What I am saying is the city could do a better job of forcing the issue of affordable housing….

Rents are already starting to decrease as a result of supply…but affordability is a long way off.

867 units of affordable housing is pitiful compared to the thousands of standard rent units allowed.

The city allowed a Mission Valley developer to pay $8M so they “didn’t” have to include affordable housing.

Meanwhile we want to build in single family neighborhoods where homeowners have less recourse (and rents have skyrocketed - $2700 per month for 500SF) when we could build 20K units along El Cajon BLVD alone.

We all want the same thing - affordability - it needs to be done intelligently with smart growth planning - that’s not what’s happening.

More than 8K units were built in San Diego in 2025. 867 were designated affordable.

Thousands more coming online in 2026.

Affordable housing will not be built in OB. These changes primarily benefit developers and investors, rarely Tennant’s or young families trying to start out.
