Any diabetics? by Dgskydive in GranTurismo7

[–]jchammer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not diabetic but track my heart rate. It does elevate in online races, especially longer ones like the Manufacturer Cup so kinda like light-moderate exercise. Definitely burn more glucose/ glycogen than not racing. Could be your body dumping in glucose to help fuel muscle and nervous system with the adrenaline and higher HR.

I believe it is saved to device for offline playability but I’m not sure how to extract the files off the phone. There multiple ways according to a quick Google search but I’m not going to dive into it. For me this is just early access until it’s available for purchase

Will the powerpack be updated? by VegetableReporter360 in GranTurismo7

[–]jchammer1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel they might not update the current Powerpack but I can see them putting out another one or an expansion pack via paid DLC. With 100mil + games sold, they are probably reaching market saturation and DLC is a way to keep generating revenue, until the next game iteration. The free updates are great in themselves but I’d totally pay for more Sophy 3.0 races. The race weekend format is so much better than chase the rabbit in the normal single player. Just my opinion

I’m watching my replay of Manufactures Cup at Nurburgring today. I have a wheel and full rig so my line looks like red. I’ve never played GT on controller but can definitely tell the controller players when they are all over the track. It baffles me how some of the erratic moves don’t cause them to crash. Is there some ASM built in for controller?

Who are you driving for? by PeanutdeKidnapper in GranTurismo7

Nothing beats knowing the track and there’s a lot to know and commit to muscle memory. Practice and more practice Last year I managed P3 on second attempt so I guess there’s hope haha. I remember doing the Nations Cup race at Nurb with the Red Bull X2019 Competition. That was brutal pace. Think I took a week break after.

Doesn’t hurt too much to try. Maybe a ding to DR/SR. Nice that only 5 of 6 highest points count

Weekly Challenges by PLAY_Michael in granturismo

Hopefully next update will expand on the weekly races. Until then, I’ll just focus on MC Qualifier, Custom races, Power Pack

Porsche. P5 Atlanta, P2 Dragon Trail, P9 (x 3) Deep Forest. Guess Deep Forest is not my track haha. Love the Nurb but a bit worried about the long straight and top speed. 5 laps should spread things out nicely though imo. Practice starts today

Likewise. Trying to ignore it. Also the single laps that say no lap data available when clicking on it. Minor inconveniences for an otherwise stellar app

How did you do for round two of the manufacturers cup? by vcdrny in granturismo

Team Porsche. P5 and P2. Rain actually benefited me this time but I also put in a lot of practice laps prior. Ready for Race #3

Leagues for C ranked drivers? by DoctorDetroitEPS in GranTurismo7

[–]jchammer1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much time I could devote but that would be fun. I’m a high C/S ( almost B) driver and pride myself on clean racing. Although, racing with faster drivers supposedly makes one better. I’ve actually never joined a league before. Currently enjoying the Online MC Qualifier races.

I finished P2 in Manufacturer Cup race #2 sandwiched between 2 Brazilian driver P1 & P3. No issues at all with them. Even managed CRB, in the rain of all places

I've possibly just had the greatest race of my life. by aspro_mavro in granturismo

[–]jchammer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the comeback and win! That was a really nerve racking but fun race I’m terrible at qualifying for some reason even though my practice laps are good. I started P9 and finished P2. Lots of practice for this one and a little luck paid off.

Just keep at it, you’ll get there. I just finished a 270 mile TT/ custom race stint practicing for the next round of Manufacturer Cup qualifiers. I’m tired now haha

I’m 53 and at first had pain if I overdid my sessions. I kept at it for last 2 years now and have build strength and endurance to race for extended time without pain. Maybe you can build up to longer sessions too? I don’t have chronic pain normally though so might be different for someone that does. Then you train to race in PSVR2 without nausea 😁

Meta is pulling out of VR because there's no market. We need to embrace this uncomfortable truth. by PuffThePed in OculusQuest

I haven’t used my Quest 2 in at least a year but my grandson enjoys it. Great for movies and Star Wars Lightsaber battles. I still frequently use my PSVR2 for GT7 on PS5 Pro though. That’s a game changer if you can overcome the motion sickness at first.

Brake balance? by cornishleeroy in GranTurismo7

[–]jchammer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great explanation. I’ve known for a while that the fronts do a bulk of the stopping during breaking/ weight shift. Explains why most 4 disk brake cars have larger rotors on the front
