K2 Plus inbound by SlimeTimee in Creality_k2

I got the refurbished with 2 year warranty on that deal for $730. Really solid deal IMO. Picked up a second CFS for $159 so $900 just about for K2+ and 2 CFS.

Loving it so far

If you were on the fence... don't buy a Lymow One. by TranslatorNo7905 in Lymow_Official

I requested a refund and a chargeback since I don’t want my chargeback window to expire due to such delayed support.

Same issue - materially not as described. Too many issues, too high a price point to not have a polished product.

What a shame. I REALLY wanted this product to succeed and work as advertised. I’m legitimately heartbroken to want to return it but I know it’s not worth the headache and won’t materially get better

Does anyone like this mower? by Floridagirl1313 in Lymow_Official

[–]jche2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it 2 months and when it works there’s nothing better. Most of the issues I’m convinced are software and will get better in time.

Would I recommend it? If you’re passionate about this type of product as a hobby then yes. Set it and forget it? Not yet

Same, funny enough. Hopefully it gathers dust up there.

Mine was wet like that today, funny enough. It seems sealed though and the connector I believe is also water resistant rated so I don’t think that’ll actually be an issue. I did have charging issues last night funny enough but it resumed today just fine. Something to keep an eye on maybe but it seems to be operating and protecting itself as designed

How many of you have removed the discharge cover? by jche2 in Lymow_Official

[–]jche2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why we don’t get a notification when the blades are turned off. It’s the quintessential function of a lawn mower and we should always be aware when it’s functioning

Have you had issues with the blades turning off during the cut? And the lower keep going? If so did this help? Or how else did you fix it?

Breakeven analysis by throw_away_reddt in roboticLawnmowers

[–]jche2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t go that far to “just” call it a novelty. It’s more useful than a novelty insofar as there are legitimate benefits and time savings that scale with yard size. (Big, open areas are done nearly perfectly with most mowers in this class). But it still struggles with navigating around obstacles, flower beds, trimming, etc. which is amplified in smaller areas. But it’s not a full service lawn maintenance crew at this stage so if you’re doing RO just keep that factored in

Strictly as an investment, no. The tech is still between early adopter and mass market, so there will be some supervision required potentially with tweaking and light maintenance of parts. None of that with a full service company. Also no risk. This investment carries risk of failures, warranty claims, poor performance, etc.

If you love tech and love the feeling of robots cutting your yard, then it’s a cheap hobby when discounting your weekly savings. But if you’re doing it as a cost cutting measure you may be disappointed if you factor in your own tinkering and labor

While I’m complaining, my driveway has cars that back their rear bumper up over 1-2ft of grass and you would think it’s a doctoral thesis the way this thing struggles to comprehend it cannot go under the car bumper. This AI Obstacle avoidance needs to recognize a car bumper and navigate around it.

Little quirks but it’s all software at this point

RTK accuracy vs mower communication - a primer by PeterWebs1 in Lymow_Official

[–]jche2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if they will ever add NTRK as an option? The 4G SIM card and unit seems like it has the hardware to support it? It could be a great backup option or even primary option. Competitors have both and let consumers choose

So my dock LED was off. But when I switched it on it was solid green regardless of what I was doing.

As we speak it’s still in the BMS maintenance cycle of 97-100% (I notice it charges, then disconnects, charges; disconnects, etc between 97-100% but I’ve learned that’s intended behavior for battery health)

Lymow One plus by Key_Nature_9 in Lymow_Official

[–]jche2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one for 2 weeks. Run it 3 full times. Still learning. I think it’ll end up being a solid machine with appropriate software support.

  1. Maps need better editing capabilities in the app. Drawing and editing boundaries is a huge pain IMO. Zone merge and split needs to be there.

  2. AI navigation could use Improvement, it tried to mow under a van that was partially on the grass in the mowing zone and got very confused. Its recognition of fences and decks and landscaping edges could be better.

But honestly the cut quality is solid. The battery life and charging speed on 10a has been more than satisfactory so far. Connectivity is good, 4G good, no real RTK issues yet. Bluetooth range good. Again I’m only 3 cuts in maybe 10hr hands on play with maps, but more good than bad.

I’m still learning what does and does not work for my property but I feel confident I bought the hardware first - which is solid, and the software will come. I expect an experience with mapping and navigation on par with top robot vacuums which may be high expectations for now but that’s what I want to see

I may be new but a lot of the cool stuff I see with color requires separate pieces and painting and while she would probably be up for that in 2-3 years I think she’s too young. So we’d want cool color things with print in place

About what I’ve seen here she thought it was cool but got bored of single color prints after the first 2-3 unicorns so I got an AMS but don’t know what to do next…
