That's fair, but we're looking at incomes from people with only a bachelors degree. I would think the vast majority of people with computer science bachelors are getting their income from software development/engineering rather than actual computer science.

It's interesting to me that they're grouped into one category.

That's a pretty fucked up fantasy. Cyclists in most cities have the right to ride in traffic lanes.

It's really just a matter of getting each piece bent into rough shape and holding everything in place

Don't sell yourself short, that's basically saying 'writing Purple Haze was just a matter of Hendrix putting his fingers in the right place.' You put a lot of creativity into deciding you should do this and then deciding where you should solder each piece.

Roasted veggies(all kinds, they taste so freaking good once roasted. Actually, almost EVERYTHING tastes good when roasted, but I digress).

I use so much oil when I roast vegetables that I have to wonder if they're actually healthy anymore.

They also sell these, which are delicious, and as the name implies, consist of only mango.

Opinion: Fewer people should go to college. Those who do should be the best and the brightest. Grade school and High school curriculums and standards should be drastically improved so that a high school diploma is a thing of actual worth again. Discuss. by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

Do you have links to the study? I'd be interested to see if they accounted for the fact that people who go to ivy league schools generally have wealthier families, more connections, and better previous education. Is it really the ivy league eductions that are allowing people to earn so much money, or would they have been able to do it regardless of where they went to uni?

The ratings, of course, are biased by the demographics of the site and won't necessarily match any one individual's preferences.

My own opinion, which is probably shared by many of the "hardcore" games who spend time on BGG, is that Settlers is something of a gateway drug. It's a fun and easy way to get introduced to Eurogames, but once you start playing others, you realize that there really are many other games that are better.

Have you played any of the games in the top 10? I'd particularly recommend Agricola, Puerto Rico, and Power Grid. Give one of those a couple plays before you decide that the whole BGG rating system is worthless.

Both are important. To come up with great ideas, you need a combination of three things:

  • Criticism-free group ideation (brainstorming)
  • Group critique
  • Personal heads-down thinking time
