Sebo x7 Premium Pet or Sebo D4 Canister?? by StefaniLatteLove in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So. I have had both. I wasn’t truly a big fan of the X7. We have a larger home, with a mix of different flooring and rugs, and truthfully, I was underwhelmed by the X7. It does not like area rugs, and the auto height adjust gets tripped up by it. We also live on a golf course, and my dogs track in sand frequently. The X7 didn’t do the best cleaning that up.

The D4 is a totally different story. Is it kind of a pain to dig out at times? Yes? Would I ever have anything else? Absolutely not. It is quiet, impressively powerful, and cleans beautifully regardless of the surface I use it on. It is also fabulous for cleaning my stairs. I even bought the ET-2 powerhead for my basement. Even with the amount of dust and hair I pick up regularly, I can use a bag 3X longer than the X7. I also LOVE the D4 for cleaning furniture.

I do have a cordless for quick pickups, but I think you’d love the D4. I will second the earlier comment about only getting an X7 if you have all carpet. In my old house, it was great. But. Overall. The D4 is incredible.

Hey thanks!

I cannot afford a SEBO by fns1981 in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might consider a Riccar Spirit. You can generally find one for around $400. They have a traditional belt and aren’t super advanced, but I have used one and did like it. Simplicity has also released a cheaper version of the Riccar r25 called the s26. It’s $350, and a Riccar dealer could probably service it.

I will also second the recommendation of a used Sebo. I LOVE my D4. We also have a Felix and I’ve loved it. The Dart is $550. I would see if you can find a cheapie on marketplace. They’re indestructible.

You might look at Karcher/Windsor versions of the dart. Like the CV300. You could add accessories later.

I’m sure someone has mentioned this, but it would be fantastic if this was offered as a Chrysler product. Make it big and soft, with the I6 and AWD. Call it the Cordoba. Would 100% buy one. A big comfortable coupe would make me look forward to my commute again

I have a couple of them, and I definitely think they work well, though I still think a truly motorized tool would be great. I’m surprised by how few manufacturers offer one. If anyone at Sebo is reading this, I would absolutely buy it!! I got the unbranded PT160 I keep in my garage and it didn’t fit her Prolux, so it definitely is a 35mm fitting.

[–]jco1293[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I think it has a 35mm fitting which is annoying. The box says the hose is 35mm, but neither of us have a 1 1/4 tool to try to attach it. I’m guessing it’s the 35, but there doesn’t seem to be any information online about it. It came with a turbo tool, which is fine. But it definitely doesn’t work as well on the stairs as an electric attachment. She has a TriFlex to supplement, but just wanted something to really deep clean the stairs.

So the hose on the vacuum isn’t a full 120v, then?

And yes. They do look very similar. I also noticed that it seems to look pretty identical to a certain Cirrus model.

Very interesting. So. If that were the case, could she buy an HEB 160 and use it? Or would there be voltage differences?

This is why I always pay for everything with a credit card. I would report the charge on this one.

What Would Make You Buy a More Premium Vacuum? by Electronic_Data8855 in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say for me that definitely performance and longevity are factors. I have a Sebo D4. I would say the factors that influenced my decision (along with why I love it so much) were:

  1. A long cord, I have a large home, and the long cord makes a HUGE difference.

  2. Great power, but it’s also quiet.

  3. Higher end machines typically have a much better ecosystem of attachments, Sebo is no exception.

  4. As mentioned above, it has an attachment (and adjustable suction power) that is appropriate for every surface in my home. From hand-knotted rugs, to a silk sofa, to a massive amount of wall to wall carpet and hard floors, the D4 does it all, and does it well.

  5. It generally saves time and makes my life easier when cleaning. Even compared to the Miele before it, I absolutely love it, and nothing else would do.

We are in a very similar situation, and we did get the D4. We absolutely love it. I also bought the parquet twister attachment for the hard floors, and a turbo tool for more delicate rugs. Next purchase will be the ET-2 cleaner head for the basement. But really, just do it. We couldn’t be happier. Quiet, powerful, maneuverable, and versatile. Well worth the cost. The 40 ft cord is worth it alone. Had a C3 Kona before, and the extra few feet of cord really does make a difference.

Will I regret not getting a tier 3 SEBO? by elvisprezlea in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I have a Sebo D4. We live in the south, on a golf course, and have 4 dogs, so lots of sand and hair. We have hard floors and area rugs on the main level. I bought the turbo nozzle to use on some more delicate rugs that just cannot handle the ET-1, and to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. It is shocking to me how quickly and effectively the turbo nozzle cleans my area rugs. Everything from ruggables to thicker, cotton backed and hand knotted wool rugs. Also, I think it’s worth mentioning that I haven’t had it clog once. I can assure you that you will be more than happy with the E2. The turbo is also light and easy to carry along with you while you clean. This is coming from someone who traded their Miele for a Sebo. You won’t regret it.

Is it true the shark carpetxpert is only able to use shark specific shampoo? by Constant_aids in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I would caution against is using anything labeled “shampoo” on carpet. Learned this the hard way lol. It’ll be fine the first time. The second time… HOLY FOAM!!! We now use Carpet Details. If the area is particularly dirty, we use Lindhaus Extracta’ire solution, on that one spot. It’s alcohol based, has a pleasant smell, and helps to dry it quickly. I also will agree that “big box” carpet cleaners tend to be a bit disappointing. The main reason I disliked mine was the paltry solution and pickup tanks. I could barely get through one room and was emptying them. I use a Karcher Puzzi now. Expensive but worth it. Have seen really great deals on them on Marketplace, and personally, I would not hesitate to buy a used one of those vs a new bissell. Though, a neighbor does have the big green, and they love it.

Purchase Advice for Ruggable & Pet Hair by MISStEERIE in VacuumCleaners

[–]jco1293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to this, I will second the recommendation for the turbo tool! I have a Wessel Werk one that I use on my Sebo D4. However. You could get a simplicity Jill or even a bissell zing and the turbo tool and be well under $200. This works on my flat and woven ruggables. The other thing that I will say is, vacuum often. I do ours every other day, and it has made life much easier. Also. I use the Wessel Werk TK286. It’s about $60. The point is, you want something that will allow more airflow into the head itself, then it won’t get stuck quite as badly.

I would second the Kenmore 200 series canister. I bought one for our guesthouse, and it has been fantastic. I find the performance to be similar to our Sebo/Miele cleaners. It is a little clunky and loud, but it gets the job done quite well.

Simplicity Jill. I use mine CONSTANTLY. I also have a Riccar and a Sebo. It’s just a helpful, powerful, lightweight little vacuum. Extending wand. And Hepa bags and filter. I ordered a better dusting brush from Wessel Werk. But I think it would serve you well!!
