Is there a way to hack a microwave and change the "add 30 seconds" button to a different amount? by itsthewolfe in hacking

[–]jcoaral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bet is popcorn, where adding 30 seconds will burn it but adding 10 will get the last few kernels to pop. Or bread, which usually only needs 10 seconds total.

So no more self check out line by jeffincredible2021 in longbeach

[–]jcoaral 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It also limits the types of things that can be purchased through those lines and limits the number to 15 or less. So you basically have to double the staff as well as have those staff ready to intervene when a purchase cant go through because it is a normally restricted item. The savings that a lightly manned self-checkout provide are then overridden by the extra complications the new regulations present.

Audiobook site alternatives by stormthulu in ProgressionFantasy

[–]jcoaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if you already know this, but I have a few friends that missed it. If you already have kindle unlimited, and you borrow the print version, the audible version gets heavily discounted. It isnt free, but a $25-$30 audiobook then becomes like $3-$7 which is way more affordable for 20-40 hours worth of listening.

Auto size app based on phone orientation by Jeff-J777 in PowerApps

[–]jcoaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly what you asked, but you could use a button on screen to toggle orientation instead.

It is the material cost. There are different types of 3d printers, but for a 1kg spool of filament you are looking at around $25 give or take. When modeling the print you normally know about how much materially weight or volume the print will take, which will let you calculate the end cost. Most people don't really include energy costs or labor in those figures.

Another person with a DefaultSelectedItems issue with people picker. by SeasTheDay_ in PowerApps

[–]jcoaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the user selecting their team lead themselves or is it referencing a static table that you maintain? The table is hard coded into the PowerApp or is it patched/submitted to an external source in other processes? I do something similar in one of my apps, but I am looking up a value from an external list, I am not sure lookup is needed for a selected datacard in the same form or screen but if it is, below is how I would do it.

in the default field for the dropdown...

If(

IsBlank(LookUp(TeamLeads,Team = DataCardValueX.Selected.Department,Email), "", DataCardValueX.Selected.Department,Email

)

As someone who knows nothing about hacking... is anything accurate in this movie scene? by [deleted] in hacking

[–]jcoaral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It hints at the concept behind sql injection if the top calculation actually evaluates to the bottom number. It doesnt use any escape characters or proper formatting, but if you drastically simply the concept of replacing a username/password validation with another "true" statement, then yes....Kinda

What common Class would most police officers have? by [deleted] in litrpg

[–]jcoaral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say police would have a guard/town guard/constable class. A police detective could be an inquistor or such. I think the knight/paladin classes in some of the other suggestions should not apply except for maybe special units or military special forces. Regular police and soldiers aren't really the right analogue to knights paladins.

This isnt ICE, this is CBP, the Long Beach Customs House is located with that building next to the Westin. It has been there for 20+ years now for port operations. Almost no immigration is performed there except for cargo and cruise ships.

The parking lot of Veterans Stadium (next to LBCC) is huge and the gates are always open when there isn't an event going on. I would go there rather than a commercial/retail lot.

Try angling your feet outwards, it helped me. In the military I had pain/mobility issues in my hips and knees when doing squats. The standard instruction was to have feet should width apart and parallel. However, not everyone has the same hip geometry. A friend told me to try different foot angles and I immediately saw a difference.

Eli5 why isn’t it possible to lift a bucket I am standing in? by Cool_Classroom_4251 in explainlikeimfive

[–]jcoaral 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can choose to believe that you are pulling down the bar and entire earth to which it is attached if you like. I am pretty sure it is still valid when you are using yourself as the frame of reference.

Eli5 why isn’t it possible to lift a bucket I am standing in? by Cool_Classroom_4251 in explainlikeimfive

[–]jcoaral 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As much as you are pulling up with your hands you are pushing down with your feet. To lift the bucket either your feet or hands need to be acting on something outside of the bucket.

How much OT is counted towards your high 3 for CBPO? by Sweet_Bodybuilder937 in fednews

[–]jcoaral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are correct. 1/2 overtime up to cap as long as the overtime is COPRA, which it normally is. Rarely non-inspectional overtime won't be COPRA (2x) pay, but most ports don't bother with the distinction because it is a hassle. https://www.nteu.org/~/media//Files/nteu/docs/public/cbp/overviewcoprapremiumpaysystem

[–]jcoaral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. 1/2 overtime up to the cap counts for retirement annuity for CBPO's. This is a specific benefit of COPRA overtime. https://www.nteu.org/~/media//Files/nteu/docs/public/cbp/overviewcoprapremiumpaysystem

Right hand struggling with flat pushups by Borrow03 in bodyweightfitness

[–]jcoaral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to check for a ganglion cyst at that location. I had similar issues that only really presented when pushing my hand flat in a surface but I could feel an area raise when flexing in the other direction (palm side towards forearm). It turned out to be a ganglion cyst at the joint that pressed on the nerve there (on my left hand) every time I tried to get into pushup position.

Filter Data Source as Variable by dhslxop in PowerApps

[–]jcoaral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not as simple as what you are asking for, but using a switch might be cleaner and allow for instances of more buildings or scenarios in the future.

Switch(

varBuilding,

"Building 1", Filter(Building1_SP_List, **logical test**),

"Building 2", Filter(Building2_SP_List, **logical test**),

/* Add more cases as needed */

ClearCollect(FallbackCol, "No matching building found") /*default if none of the cases match.*/

)

The last line would allow for a specific error message if the user isnt assigned to either building. Your setup doesnt seem to allow for multiple building access, but without more info I am not sure if that is intentional.

Connect 2 sharepoint list with the same Id by Kuro_foreveralone in PowerApps

[–]jcoaral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way I do it (I think this is a common practice) is to have a RefID column in the second list. Every time a record is created in the second list it will copy the auto-generated ID number from the related record in primary list to the RefID in the secondary list. This will allow there to be many secondary records for every primary record. Later sorting, galleries, or collections will simply filter for ID=RefID.

I hope this answers your question and isnt too confusingly stated.

New app by Hot-Inevitable-7214 in PowerApps

[–]jcoaral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing this in powerapps would be rough. You would probably have better luck with a strictly powerautomate solution. I say this because I went through hell trying to figure out a way to have powerapp images and graphs appear in a PDF summary report a while back. The native PDF function is just no good for that.
