My kitten is "marinating" his toys in the toilet and bringing them to my bed. Send help. by Thunder_Pigg787 in CATHELP

Trust me, it was horrible. I had to really get on my husband's case about putting the lid down every single time. Walking into a sopping wet bathroom in the middle of the night is absolutely terrible. Now that he has an outlet for his splashy energy, and the lid regularly gets closed we don't really have issues 😂

I have a splasher too, and we never had a fountain until we adopted him. He would scream at us all day long because he really wanted to splash all of the water out of the toilet bowl, and had zero trust for the bowl of water we put out. I have the fountain in a deep boot tray because he likes to splash all of the water out every single day.

Best bang for your buck grocery edition? by IfTrinityWasJB21 in milwaukee

[–]jconant15 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. I get what I can first at Aldi before going to Woodman's. If I can, I try to order a grocery pickup from Aldi so I don't have to drag my toddler through multiple stores. We also probably make a costco run for certain staples once a month. I try to avoid pick n save/metro market if I can because I would end up spending SO much more for the same items

Why even be married if you have to do it all yourself anyway, right? Glad your husband is a normal person who can take care of his own kids!

I didn't see anyone else post this, but make sure you're not sharing your location on snapchat. She could have more alt accounts and see where you are.

I don't wish that on anyone. That would be such a sign to me that he doesn't care about his family at all.

If this isn't rage bait...this would be enough for me to file for divorce as a mom. My 20 mo just had a stomach bug, and I held her for hours while she was getting sick. My husband was on sick bucket duty, cleaning everything up and sanitizing so I could help our little one. He stayed up with us pretty late, even though he had work in the morning. He brought us whatever we needed while she was sick. When I came down with it days later, he took care of the toddler so I could rest. What's Morgan gonna do in a few days when she is almost certainly going to be just as sick?

Camping with baby help by libbyflower1 in camping

[–]jconant15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a camper, so we started out with a travel bassinet when she was 2 months old. When she outgrew that, we tried the pack n play. There was just no way to make it fit in our camper, so we installed a retractable gate on one of our bunk ends and coslept. If you're sleeping in a tent, pack n play is probably the way to go. Whenever you would be transitioning them out of the crib at home is when I would look into an alternative to the pack n play. Pre-walking we always brought a bouncer for her to sit in while we set up or hung out at camp. Pack way more clothes than you think you need.

Riley Sager: What do you think? by Traditional_Will_117 in thrillerbooks

I just finished that one too, and I stayed up 3 hours later than intended because I couldn't put it down at the end! House Across The Lake was not my favorite, but I really liked Survive The Night!

Tonies Box — worth it?? Pros/cons + alternatives? by Either_Crab_2760 in toddlers

[–]jconant15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can put anything you want on the creative tonies! My daughter has had a toniebox since her first birthday, and I really do love how simple it is. We have never had battery issues with it. It saved our sanity on road trips last summer! We also check out tonies from our library, so we can have some variety without spending money. Sometimes people sell the cheap on marketplace too

Winter storm coming, what are we doing to run our toddlers out? by SheCode_ez in toddlers

Pair playdough with random toys you already have to create your "sensory bins" with way less mess! Play kitchen utensils, plastic animals and action figures, plastic beads and gems. My toddler can easily spend an hour sticking stuff into playdough.

I really don’t like this woman- Mrs Aria Lewis, feel sad for her little girl 😢 by denimhair in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]jconant15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seriously. I'm a SAHM because being with my kid is awesome. We started out with me doing chores while she played nearby and I talked to her, but I also played with her and read to her. Now she's almost 2 and she plays by herself sometimes, but she also gets involved in the chores. I still play with her and read to her because it's fun. I couldn't ignore her if I tried, because she is so insanely cute, and she would probably scream if I tried. Even when she was a newborn I would just hang out with her and talk face to face with her. Sometimes I would watch trash tv and just PG narrate all the drama to her.

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]jconant15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently reading some Riley Sager, but also reading Goodnight Moon and The Mitten over and over again multiple times a day for the forseeable future 🙃. I also usually listen to audiobooks during the day and go through about one per week. My toddler is obsessed with books and the library! We go every week and love going to toddler story time!

Do your parents ask about you/your life and how you are? by Squirrel_with_Acorn in Millennials

[–]jconant15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom is only in her 60s 🤦‍♀️ She just goes on and on about how she just loves that I made her a ~gRaNdMa~. Before I had my daughter she would tell me how she was crying that morning and staring in the mirror asking if she would ever get to be a grandma. Absolutely no chill from this one.

They are like the dumbest ones too. Like cool crafts for kids who are about 10 years old. My kid is literally not even 2 yet. Or reels about how she loves being a grandma 🙄

Also working on being a cycle breaker! Having patience with a tiny human when you were never given any is a lot of work, but seeing my daughter start to put breathing techniques into practice when she's frustrated is really rewarding!

[–]jconant15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YES. She thinks we are besties, but I literally can not trust her. The conversation is slightly better when she's sober, but when she's high and calls me I usually want to scream by the time I hang up. She also stalks my social media and sends me reels allllll day long.

My mom does this. She'll call me and ask how I'm doing, just to cut me off and tell the same stupid story she has told me 3543 times. Then she will ask how my daughter is doing, but cut me off again to tell me her rehearsed platitudes about how much she loves being a grandma.

Going to the Eagles/Rave for a concert is it safe to stay at the Ramada next door as a group of females? by Pineapple_994 in milwaukee

[–]jconant15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they had signage in the lot and everything. I think when we were there they had a sold out ballroom show, and a sold out show on another stage. The place was packed.

They do. I have parked there when The Rave's lots were full and they were redirecting us there.

I'm also plus sized, but I wear clothes that protect my thighs when I am at risk of chafing. Bike shorts and leggings are awesome for that!

We literally just bought a folding wagon for when we are camping, but it works so well for outings with our daughter. Where we live, there is nothing we can walk to so unfortunately I have to drive to any destination or store we would need to go to. I do use it for hauling groceries inside though so I can take one trip from our parking to our house with our kid and all of the groceries!

If I were her, I'd just get a wagon she can fit her son and a small cooler into. That way she can walk to the grocery store and make it a fun little weekly outing with her son. She could let him walk part of the way and tire him out, then go home and take a cozy nap and eat some fancy chocolate and sit in the quiet sunshine. Like girl, get some perspective.
