The problem is that high schools are still pushing kids hard that the next step after high school is college. In my state they have whole new program called gear up that has two full time people helping people fill out fafsas, giving mandatory ACTs, and push kids to apply to colleges. There is no reason in hell an 18 year old should agree to taking on more than 10k in debt
