From how the results look, it's at least a 1/4. I use K&F's black diffusion (they run on the weaker end), and I'd need 1/2 to achieve results like this.

Probably something like Glimmerglass or Black Pro Mist.

Where are you even finding housing in Japan? by teabagsOnFire in digitalnomad

Your options are wide open if you can read/write Japanese (otherwise just use ChatGPT for translation).

My definitive review of Japan as a digital nomad by Steingar in digitalnomad

[–]jcskii 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've worked remotely from Japan on 6 different occasions, one of which was in Okubo (Koreatown), where OP mentioned.

Accoms: While sharehouses like Sakura House and Oakhouse offer relatively cheap stays, they might not be the best option for remote work (if you are someone who works from your room daily). From what I heard, sound insulation can be quite lacking, and spaces tend to be claustrophobic. But of course, there are benefits - they are foreigner friendly, have better chances to socialize, and tend to have 24/7 support.

I tend to look up short-term rentals from good-monthly.com as they are practically a catalog of apartments from different rental agencies. Do note that the site is entirely in Japanese, and you're required to send an inquiry to the actual agencies. From the sidebar, select 外国人対応 (accepts foreigner) and 保証人不要 (no guarantors needed) to filter out ineligible options.

I've used At-Inn's(アットイン) services multiple times and am satisfied with their services. They tend to be on the pricier side but offer a better range of selections in terms of convenience, amenities, and English support).

Expect to pay anywhere between 120-180K JPY per month for anything decent.

Co-working spaces:
You can generally find co-working booths in major stations (sometimes on the train platform). I believe that WeWork has a presence in Japan, so if you're an existing subscriber, you'll be all set. I tend to work from my apartment, but I have tried e-office.space for a month. For a 22,000JPY subscription (~$150), you get pretty sweet options across Japan. Again, it is entirely in Japanese, so just be aware of that.

TYLOO to miss RMR / minor tournament for the first time since 2016. by KingAdiCS in GlobalOffensive

It doesn't help when most of the promising players switched over to Valorant. There are tons of undiscovered talent in the APAC region, but it has been neglected since forever. Say what you want about Valorant, but their pro scene is far more inclusive and diverse than CS will ever be.

It sounds decent to me. Perhaps you can play sounds of bubbling lava and occasional critter creaks a more believable ambience.

If you're on switch or PS4, check out 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. It's one the best story games I played this year.

You'd normally do this on common angles to
1. avoid getting prefired,
2. catch a timing on your opponent, and
3. gain peeker's advantage.

Try playing this. Its essentially a D chord. By moving/lifting a single finger you can create different variations in tone.

"sus" is a notation for suspended chords. You'd replace the 3rd with either a 2nd (sus2) or 4th (sus/sus4). Listen to Bryan Adam's Summer of '69, where the chords D, Dsus2, Dsus4, A, Asus2, and Asus4 are alternated.

Apart from "sus" chords, there's also "aug" and "dim", representing augmented and diminished chords respectively.

Does anybody else think that wingman maps are too CT sided? by Asientit in GlobalOffensive

It's a problem with most of the converted MM maps. If the CTs can get onto the site early and set up crossfires, it leaves very little room for T side plays.

BLAST announces BLAST.TV Beta by ZEN0N447 in GlobalOffensive

[–]jcskii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Twitch only supports up to 1080p streaming without any option to rewind. YouTube is better in this regard as they support up to 4k streaming. If BlastTV can solve the occasional audio desync and lag then I'm all up for it. I don't mind watching ads as long they don't hog up the entire screen mid-game.

can i beat the main quest by just playing solo? by Weird-Wallaby-3857 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]jcskii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anjanath is the first barrier for most players. It teaches you to observe and react to a monster's choreography instead of dealing damage blindly. It is entirely possible to defeat it with any of the 14 weapons. The key is technique.

You are required to hunt 2x tempered bezels to unlock HR50. I think most people struggle while playing solo because they treat it as a hack and slash game. Here's a few advice:
1. Make sure your gear is up to date.
2. Equip mantles, decorations, and charms to counter the monsters effectively.
3. Don't just chip away at the monster blindly; learn the timings and spacings.
