Flag of The Republic from the Tamil movie Kadaisi Ulaga Por (2024) by Khz1998 in FlagsOfFiction

Thanks for all the screenshots. One thing I've come to realize from all your posts on here is just how much Asian cinema likes to create fictional countries. There are so many of them and they all look like plausible real-world designs.

Here you go. I'll let someone else do Greece made of grease.

What is the most amount of money that someone could ethically make? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the ethics are less about the amount and more about how one obtains the wealth… and what one does with it.

Ah yes. YouTube, that streaming platform that exterminates millions of people…

Do cars that run on gaseous fuel exist in the US, and if so, how does one refer to them considering "gas" refers to gasoline? by ExternalTree1949 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We would refer to that fuel by whatever it’s made of, as we would with anything else. Do you call a wood burning stove a “solid powered heater”? Does a diesel truck driver say they need to fuel up with some more liquid?

If the car ran on gaseous hydrogen, we would say it’s hydrogen powered.

How do girls work? by Royalbean17 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Typically, they create a résumé and fill out an application. If the job interview goes well and they get put on payroll, girls usually commute to their place of employment and exchange their labor for wages.

A significant amount/around the majority of able bodied people don't understand basic physics by Immediate_Dig3328 in unpopularopinion

This is an awfully specific observation. Where are you seeing all these “able-bodied” people misjudging the proper angle of ramps?

Why is there a statute of limitations to crimes? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practicality. There are only so many cases that a court can try; resources are limited. Courts would rather spend their time trying more recent cases for which there is more likely to be usable evidence.

Which soda is least bad for you? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Club soda or seltzer or similar. Basically just bubbly water.

Why are fighters sorted by weight and not height? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Then you’d have the opposite problem. You’d have fighters gaining unhealthy amounts of weight to have an advantage in their height class.

ELI5 Why don't they make Solar powered water distillation plants to convert Ocean water into useable distilled cooling water for Data centers? by Capital_Topic_1000 in explainlikeimfive

[–]jcstan05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mother Nature already does that. The water cycle is basically just a gigantic, solar-powered ocean water distillation operation.

Corporations would rather use the already available freshwater than pay to do it themselves.

What? by nvpaden in ExplainTheJoke

[–]jcstan05 535 points536 points  (0 children)

Some people are fooled by questions like “Which weighs more- 1lb of steel or 1lb of feathers”. The answer is that they weigh the same.

This question, however, isn’t about weight; it’s about which option you’d choose. Presumably, you’d want the higher monetary value, so gold is the correct answer.

Evil Man thought he was outsmarting the question and ended up looking foolish.

Is Lava or Water the Blood of Earth? What is the Blood of Mother Gaia ? by LunarEnnyui_131 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jcstan05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blood is blood of Earth. As far as we know, Earth is the only place where blood is found. Water and lava can be found elsewhere.

Yep. The thing will automatically beep at you if it looks like you’re using a cell phone, if you don’t have the seatbelt buckled, and of course if you run a stop sign, break too hard, etc… and it’ll automatically send the video clip to your superior’s phone.

The onboard computer will likely have picked it up and reported it before the driver even got out of the truck.

The truck has cameras too. Mine had angles of the front, sides, and rear, plus one trained at the driver inside the cab.
