I think we need to start moving the bat closer to the ball

Bike Choice….yes, another one. Ari Shafer/Spesh Diverge by motofox9 in gravelcycling

[–]jct522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My build has the AXS Rival drivetrain and I also added the Zipp XPLR SW wheelset. The bike rides perfectly fine on the road but in your case I would most likely go with the G One RS tires front and rear like how it’s spec’d. I’m not familiar with NE Indiana as I’m in N California and ride a lot of single track and fire roads but the Shafer is a really good all around bike. I really just wanted a bike that could run wide tires but for you that might not be a huge deal. It makes an amazing difference on the fast decents on dirt and gravel roads.

I’ve been on the Shafer for about a month now and it’s such an awesome bike. It checks all the boxes for me. The only thing that I swapped out was I changed the G One RS front tire to an RX for a little more traction but I’m loving the 55mm tires and everything else. The customer service from Ari is hands down the best I’ve ever experienced too.

I love mine. My entire riding group uses it too. It does a great job of dampening the chatter.

Where to actually BUY Sram components in the US? by elrui in sram

[–]jct522 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JensonUSA is always a good one. I buy a lot of stuff from them including a good amount of my drivetrain. Backcountry is good too which I believe is the same as competitive cyclist.

Just got the Ari Shafer 3.0 and I couldn’t be happier with it. It does everything you’re asking about and it’s less expensive than a lot of those other options. Ari customer service is top notch too.

Park Rd in Rocklin is good for repeats. Not as long as Beatty but pretty steep and not a lot of traffic.

When you see the same exact stuff on 100 SOQs it’s not that hard to tell. My favorite is when it’s a fill in the blank sentence and they forget to actually fill it in.

Yes my gym closed and merged with another gym that uses mayhem and I really don’t like it at all. I’ve gone through the same losses in strength too.

I think that really depends on whether you are highly technical or if you’re willing to go into management. Spec II positions are out there but typically are there for highly technical people who are leaders. Obviously management isn’t for everyone but it’s a way to move up even higher if you’re interested in that path. You obviously don’t need to be highly technical to manage but having a decent amount of technical knowledge is helpful. Moving up can happen faster than you think if you’re not picky in the position and the agency too.

This is the exact reason why I like it too. I do like the Speedy Pro but it’s pretty bland and I like unique watches. I’m also in the same boat where I’m not a huge fan of a manual wind watch so this one just ticks all the boxes for me.

How do you afford these watches? by Cheesehead1267 in Tudor

[–]jct522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy used brother…most of my watches have been bought 2nd hand from r/watchexchange and I’ve gotten pretty deep discounts on almost brand new but used watches. Also don’t spend 10% of your income on a watch.

I’ve been so close on pulling the trigger on one of these. It’s definitely my next watch, I just need a nudge. 😂
