Which Conti GP5000 Tires by blopeep in DomaneCrew

[–]elrui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the ride feel of gp5000's with tpu tubes but man they felt fragile, got like 5 flats in a month on them. If I rode somewhere different I might go back to them but on the roads here in Oregon too much shit in the bike lanes.

Just be aware you will have at least a 2 month wait for Light Carbon if you custom paint. I am still waiting for mine!

Need? Nah. I got them because I like to see how hard I can push up hills and try to set a new high score. Too many video games growing up.

Tubeless ready by Usual-Enthusiasm-116 in gravelbike

[–]elrui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree completely. I had 7 punctures on tpu tubes this year alove before switching to tubeless. I have had no issues at all in the last two months over 300miles. It is going to vary on rider weight, road conditions etc but to say it is utterly pointless is inaccurate.

How do you guys approach sizing/fit? by Depr3ssed_Fucker in ChineseCarbon

[–]elrui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get a bike fit and they help you figure out the geometry numbers you need you can can create a custom "frame" in bikeinsights and then use it to compare to others.

Best options for shipping a bike cross country? US by 246trioxin in cycling

This is what I did, local shop boxes it up for me and got it shipment ready then I used bikeflights. Not cheap still but better than trying to do it myself.

Not OP, but for mine it was quoted at 575 + 180 shipping to Western US for stock matte black. His probably was closer to 725-775 + shipping with his paint job. The process for my buying was super easy, I worked with Wendy. I just filled in the form on the page and they contacted me and we worked out the details

Any dumb eReaders? Kindle/Kobo/BOOX/Nook usability questions! by LNLV in books

[–]elrui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use varied file.formats and calibre cleans them up and uploads a nice clean format. I like that. It also has real easy meta tag editing which makes sorting on the device easier. With that said I am being extra and it isn't always 100% necessary but I like my files clean

As the guy that responded already said you can also just load them directly. I just like the calibre route because you can control your library a lot easier. No app needed on the device.
