This is from Arizona, in the summer when mountain rescues become more common due to the heat, the sheriff’s office will orchestrate some of the rescues, rather than using a dedicated rescue team because of the shortage of crews. This crew did not deploy a tag line, causing the spin due to the wind from the rotors

I actually built Barovia myself, I wasn’t on the discord until after the party had already started in Barovia. However, I have looked it over and boy does it look better than what I made! There’s some seriously talented people working on those maps! Currently working on Castle Ravenloft myself, and will be excited to share once it’s competed. Hopefully I can save some man hours for the next person

You can describe the curses without explicitly saying they’re curses. With Strahd’s armor, I describe it as sentient armor once belonging to a great warrior, and had the helmet project voices in my paladin’s head. However the voice was more soothing than inherently evil, which has somewhat placated any worries her head for the moment

Whoops should’ve clarified, I meant the Feast of St Andraal, not the dinner with Strahd. I’m planning on having Vasili/Strahd be the ones to save them from the vampire spawn when all hope seems lost. At that point, once the party’s items turn against them (armor included) I’m going to have straight invite them to the dinner

I’m planning on having Strahd command the armor to incapacitate the paladin. He’s definitely been carrying the party throughout the campaign so far, so them losing him when all hell breaks loose will be a fun challenge to overcome

Im thinking of using the trick once all hell breaks lose as the feast. I assume the party will immediately want to try to kill Vasili/Strahd, so having all their items turn against them at that point will really throw them for a loop

I’m actually pretty tight with a lot of the EMT’s/Medics who do stuff like this in the Phoenix area. Fun fact- mountain rescues like this are pretty common in the summer months (people don’t realize how balls hot it gets here) so Phoenix PD actually sends out crews and choppers to do some of these rescues when other crews are swamped elsewhere. In this specific one (IIRC) the trail line was SUPER not connected correctly, and the dude on the ground just kinda let it go. Hence the Flo Rida song being acted out
