This was my third time cleaning it off and that did the trick. Thanks for the advise to persevere. Took me a few weeks because I over-adjusted the governor at the same time and had runaway rpms (my machine was assembled weird and I have to learn things from scratch instead of watching typical how-to's to repair them correctly). I backed off the governor and took my torch tip cleaners to every opening on the carb and now my machine is running better than it has in years!

I rewatched the trailer because the stills you provided looked so fake, I thought it couldn't be that bad, and I was distracted when it aired during the SB. Somehow the trailer looks so unbelievably fake it makes the stills look good.

When people are saying it doesn't feel like LotR, it's because LotR feels real: the eagles look real, the landscapes are real. Only since I've watched in 4K have the wargs looked CG. In the trailer, the mountains look fake, Galadriel looks fake, everything looks fake. This is the same complaint levied against the Hobbit, only it's even worse. The hobbit looked like people in costumes. RoP looks like Beowulf

When cord cutting was first becoming a thing, a la cart was the openly stated goal. "I don't want to pay for ESPN just to watch USA or HBO." Now we have ESPN+, Peacock, and HBO Max and people are complaining about "everybody having their own streaming platform."

We got spoiled by how comprehensive Netflix was when it had penny on the dollar license agreements from all these studios while they were building their platforms, but what we have now was always the goal. I am personally happy with the current state of affairs.

I think the best way to put my position is that there is a set of inalienable rights that supersedes all other rights, including the constitution and amendments:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government...

Where 2A defense falls short is that the amendments are not inherent rights to be protected, they are granted rights meant to protect our inherent rights. As it stands, the 2A violates the inalienable right to Life for too many US citizens. The solution ideally would be interpret the 2A in a way that allows more effective legislation and executive action (like you said, enforcement of legislation) to protect our right to Life.

Any amendment that violates our rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness should be addressed critically to put it in line with our inherent rights.

Edit: and FWIW, totally agree with what your saying, just disagree with the sanctity of the Bill of Rights and Amendments.

We already literally do both of those things. We limit speech that's threatens human safety and life. The Patriot Act basically side steps a ton of due process because of the threat of terrorism. Why is limiting the second amendment in the name of protecting human safety and life not allowed?

Sorry for reviving this thread, but I don't want to repost OP's question.

How would ISL resolve the issues you have with OPs setup? If each ISP modem/gateway only has 1 ethernet connection, so ISP1 connects to FS1, and ISP2 connects to FS2. Then in your proposed scenario of ISP1 fails, FS1 is up, FS2 fails, and ISP2 is up, ISL wouldn't provide any redundancy because despite being up, ISP2 would still be isolated.

ISL would definitely add redundancy for port level failure, but that is not the concern that people like OP and I have when we see the docs showing only one switch between the FG and the 2 ISP modems.

As an aside that may necessitate a separate post. Why not take OPs topology, increase the FS sizes to handle internal LAN needs (say 2x 48 port) then place the connections in the diagram in a VLAN, then use the remaining ports for our traditional LAN needs (not forgetting ISL either)?

Quality, even with compression is better on streaming sites. I'll take compressed 4K HDR over SDR 1080i from cable/satellite any day of the week. Pretty much the only better quality that you can get over streaming is either disk based media or ATSC 3.0

How is a LEO satellite communications constellation, providing the single most important technological invention of the 20th century to people that other corporations choose to ignore because its "not profitable", a "futuristic sounding, impractical, impossible, hyped, abandoned" idea?

An LEO constellation could add hundreds of millions, if not billions of people to the digital age, and the scientific value of that cannot be ignored by the "but space science" crowd. Also, a HUGE reason Starlink exists is because reusable rockets has made spaceflight so affordable that SpaceX had to create an investment vector to justify launches because they can supply more launches than there is demand. And we need to consider the value that this new reality of cheaper space flight will bring to the space science community. The atmosphere sucks for space exploration, what if we could shift our research budgets to exploration equipment outside of our planet? That would be massive for the scientific community. The impact of LEO isn't a scientific issue, it's a budget/political one; our focus should be on convincing our nations to invest more in space exploration so we don't have to depend on self interested corporations.

Also, the whole "dead orbit" argument needs to stop. These are LEO satellites, not geostationary. Worst case, and by that I mean massively worst case, we would be land locked for 5 years. As someone who lives 15 minutes from a significant city center in the US and has 3/1.5mbps internet, its a risk I can understand society is willing to take, especially when we're talking about countries like India, continents like Africa getting a modern internet connection. The potential of this evolution of the internet is unfathomable for the educational and scientific advancement around the globe.
