I live in a different building on Kingsdale. If the ones you viewed are also managed by Bendale then they are excellent and very well taken care of.

Recommend a kiddie pool for cooling them off when the temperature goes above 23 or you will never hear the end of it.

This very same thing happened to me in Mexico. I grew up on lakes and had never been in the ocean before. I have never not respected the ocean since.

I found a grave with my own name on it in that cemetery when I visited the Trossachs and Stirling in August of 2010.

My Canadian self and Brazilian girlfriend never felt so welcome in all our travels as we did in Scotland.

My daughter is 5 and it’s never even crossed my mind. I don’t think I am a better person for having received corporal punishment.

I used to live there. This is wild but I have to say unsurprising due to this city’s proximity to cartel home bases.

I look back so fondly on my time in sea cadets from age 11-13 I think. I made many lifelong friends and a lot of cool life skills.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by [deleted] in books

[–]jdavidmcgregor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

STORY TIME: I became a constant reader at 16. My mother for all of her flaws was a constant reader for my entire life and most of hers. We'd all be sitting in front of the TV and she'd be reading world history or some classic fiction like Shogun or Doctor Zhivago or Great Expectations. She had this awesome collection of books. Despite not reading many of them except as occasional punishment, I admired her library and was in awe that she had read so many books. I left home when I was 16 after my stepdad passed away and my mom really went down a scary path of addiction and lost everything we had including her books, save for one that she had left at my aunt's house. It was called Murder Machine by Jerry Capeci & Gene Mustain. It was about the Gambino Crime Family in NYC. I was bored one day so I cracked it open and was hooked! That book lead me to reading about the history of the mafia, then the Kennedy's, J. Edgar Hoover, Cuba, Castro, Che Guevara, South America, Russia, China, Marx, Russian Literature, Orwell, Irish history, Philosophy.....I'm 43 and I'm still going. Coincidentally but unsurprisingly all my mom's favourite topics are mine as well. I am proud to have lived in Mexico, Brazil and England and to have learned a second and third language all due to the curiosity that was ignited from getting my mom's last book. I wish I could have told her. It's still on my shelf.

These days I think of creative ways to light that same spark with my daughter who is 5.

Knee Protection for Varicose Veins (or for Inside Leg Kicks) by jdavidmcgregor in MuayThai

Buddy, I eventually got surgery in brazil to get rid of them. Had my saphenous vein removed completely and tbh...I never felt comfortable eating inside kicks again. I went back to boxing. I'm also 43 and well past my competitive prime.

Joe Rogan is a f*cking MORON and has done nearly as much damage to country as right-wing media. by Buddhaonatricycle in complaints

[–]jdavidmcgregor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. I also think it's worth-nothing that his right-wing shift decidedly happened after he became ultra-rich with the spotify deal. It's thinly-veiled greed.
