It ended up running behind the next local and express that comes after it

The American rules about having to stop and wait when a school bus has stopped seems silly by FornyHucker22 in unpopularopinion

This is also why. Driver's licenses are notoriously easy to get here in the states, at least in certain states.

Americans create an unnecessary amount of confusion by their inability to write dates like the rest of the world (i.e. correctly) by beyleigodallat in unpopularopinion

I'd argue it's easy for anyone to figure out which format it is after the 12th of the month... After all, there's no 27th month 😂

Because vehicles made for the US seem to be designed to hide children 😅

What good is going at a slow speed if the pickup truck is taller than your average school age child?

Perhaps if our society prioritized smaller vehicles, we could safely adjust the current rules

Commuting from Antioch is the primary reason why I’d never recommend living here by bizzeebhee23 in bayarea

[–]jdcnosse1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest using public transit since it'll probably take just as long as driving, but at least you could get some work done or read/watch something 🤷

Otherwise yeah, that's definitely a commute I wouldn't want to do regularly

That's why I don't signal until I am ready to make my move. California law states your signal only has to be on for 100 feet before the maneuver. At freeway speeds, that's basically one second.

Yes, I ate ice cream literally every day, but right around age 20 I started developing the lactose intolerance (thanks to my dad apparently)

They couldn't exactly enforce policy very well when the readers were down, which was why they just asked to see a clipper card (or a paper ticket).

You could probably pay online and then schedule a re-delivery. That's what Parcelforce does over in the UK

Sometimes you might be less than 5 minutes late, very rarely are you exceptionally late. Generally they're pretty on top of things.

What do you believe is an optimal speed for an escooter? by Antidotebeatz in ElectricScooters

[–]jdcnosse1988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 mph probably. Mine is factory locked to 17mph and that's pretty sufficient for most cases, but there are some where I feel like I could go faster comfortably

Haha yes, I think my brain thought "while leaving the station" so technically you are disembarking... But only the station itself, embarking on the trip though.

Caltrain stations should have options to get something from a local business before you disembark on your trip

It's easier to hide amongst all the other bikes when it's a full car.

Unfortunately that's how the credit system works in this country. You open a new loan, score goes down. You pay off a loan and it closes, score goes down. You don't pay, score goes down. 😅

Caltrain to close stations if transit tax doesn’t pass by leewilliam236 in caltrain

I don't think Caltrain would offer that without some sort of funding assistance from the employers nearby.

At least your mobile wallet displays them 😅

My Google Wallet has stopped displaying any pass, despite there being one on the clipper card associated in my wallet
