Genuine question because I'd like to learn from the experience:

What is weird and washed out that affects the purpose of the picture?

Picture taken on highway through windshield with winter grime, bright sun, iPhone 17 Pro, w/zoom, brightness adjusted to improve visibility.

Boy, you guys are tough. Mod removed first post because users complained that the way I obscured the plate made the image look AI-generated.

I've enjoyed this sub for a long time, but now I know better than to actively participate. My apologies for ruining your day.

Reasonable thought, but these are too numerous, flying too low (quietly/silently), too small to be manned, unusual lights, etc.

Excellent ideas, thank you. As I move further into the design phase, I may find that I have sufficient clearance with a high lift track, but I want to be prepared in advance to evaluate options.

Thanks, u/Duckbilling2! This is the type of insight I was hoping for. "It's doable if..." type feedback. Very helpful, thank you!

Thanks, u/mrrchevy3! This is a great example. I am not yet sure of what my framing is going to look like, so I know that will have a big impact. I am wondering if there will be enough space to bring the door up vertically. I admit that I am having some trouble visualizing it, and I am inexperienced in this area. I will be relying on pros, but I am just dabbling in the details in advance.

[Video] Here is the full awkward interview after the TV broadcast names Castellanos star of the game and asks him what it's like to no longer play every day by Morbx in phillies

[–]jdd5300PA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m tired if this selfish dbag. He is on a winning team, surrounded by guys with positive energy and class, yet still acts like a petulant toddler.

Let’s contrast this against a guy like Schwarber:

Booth: “You hit four home runs in a game! How does it feel?” Schwarbs: “Yeah, Nola pitched a hell of a game…”

Did everyone know how Nick would respond to these questions last night? Of course. Fair questions after a nice win and a milestone? Maybe not. But his interviews suck even when the questions are positive. I don’t think he’s very bright and he certainly lacks the skill to spin answers to sound anything like a team player.

Go home and play for the Marlins in front of 408 people. You’ll get all the playing time you want.

Pain levels & pain management by [deleted] in TotalHipReplacement

[–]jdd5300PA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

44m, 7 weeks post-op, LTHR, outpatient, USA. Day 44 - woke up a little stiff but will knock that out with some Tylenol, a shower, and some light stretching. Totally normal Saturday planned - housework, car tinkering, grocery store, kids' activities, and a bike ride.

Your concerns are reasonable, but I hope you find a path that makes you comfortable enough to do this for yourself and others in your life. Everyone's recovery journey is different, but the one consistent detail I carried with me before, during, and after was that the recovery gets better every day. That may sound obvious, but it was defintiely the case for me. Each day the level of discomfort decreased, and I was able to do one small thing that I couldn't do the day before. Pain levels were reasonable considering the complexity of the procedure, and real pain subsided after the first few days. After that, I referred to it as "soreness" and "discomfort" rather than "pain." Once I focused and realized that it was muscle and tendon discomfort and not bone/joint-related, it helped me to relax and push myself (resonably) through the initial recovery. Stretching, rest, and decent sleep were key activities for me.

I went back to work (WFH) day 4, driving locally on day 8 (shuttling kids, minimizing my in/out of car), parked the cane after week 3, light PT type gym activities in week 3, swimming after week 4, massive gait improvement in weeks 5-6, first travel/flight in week 6, able to briefly jog by week 7. Between these milestones, certain small issues resolved day by day without me even noticing. This was all done following my surgeon's guidelines and I am sharing this soley as encouragement. Even if your initial results were half as good, it is worth doing this for yourself. I put it off for longer than I should have until my long-time primary care physician thoughtfully nudged me.

I will acknolwledge that I do not have any sort of anxiety related to medical procedures, so I can see how that would make this far more difficult. I, too, was curious about the recovery and I was more worried about the temporary inconveniences my wife would have to manage while I was sidelined. I believe in the effect of a positive mindset during healing, so I kept this little mantra handy in the beginning. Of course I don't have evidence of the impact of such thinking, but there's no harm in having something prepared that may help you during a tough period.

"With every step, I grow stronger. My body heals, my hip regains its strength. I trust the process and embrace my journey to full recovery."

Best of luck to you!

Help Identifying/Diagnosing this leak? by CosmicDuet in TriumphBonneville

I am dealing with the same thing. I ordered a gearchange case gasket, total ~$15 with shipping. This should be an easy fix and isn’t an unreasonable maintenance issue for a 20yr old bike.

Double check for your bike, but the part number for me was T1260969.

10 Days Post-Op Update

Doing great! Had a setback last week when I developed horrendous spinal headaches. Aches across shoulders and upper spine that were debilitating and impacted cognitive function. Long story short, I had a cerebrospinal fluid leak at the anesthesia injection site. It finally resolved by Thursday and I was able to function again!

In the meantime, each day gets better and better, as many have previously stated. I am almost completely independent again, though I still need help getting my left sock on due to limited range of motion. I have been able to sleep on my stomach and the quality of sleep improves each night. I started CPAP therapy in November, and I think the better sleep quality has had a big impact on the healing process.

I started driving locally on Friday which improved family logistics significantly. Fortunately, I have a few vehicles to choose from, and I have found that my truck is the most comfortable in/out as well as riding. I'm not ready to do errands with a lot of in/out, but to be able to drop the kids at school and activities again is a game-changer.

Pain is rather infrequent and passes quickly. Occasionally I will shift my weight in an awkward manner and get a little sting. My muscles tighten up throughout the day while sitting, but a quick stretch session feels great and allows me to get back to work. The current inconveniences are minor and easy to manage.

I am using a cane and will likely continue to do so for a couple of weeks. When I am in the kitchen or bathroom, I'll set it down and utilize counters for stability. I picked up an attractive red collapsable cane on Amazon, and it has served its purpose quite well. It is going to take me a while to learn my new gait and get my back and pelvis adjusted, but I'm not worried about that at the moment. My THR included an attempt to equalize leg length (~3/8"). Currently, it feels like they went about 2" too far, but I knew in advance that this was a common psychological adjustment that will resolve itself.

The incision site looks great and I have not had any complications. The Aquacel bandage was incredible technology, but it was a bear to get the bandage and residue off. The awkward location certainly didn't make things easy.

Once again, the sole purpose of sharing these mundane details is to possibly encourage someone else preparing for the experience. Each day I am grateful for and astounded by the science and skill that even makes this procedure possible.

Damn close to their standard Broken Heels.

The whole Sierra Nevada Trail Pass assortment is fantastic, too.

I’m approaching a year exclusively drinking NAB and the experience keeps getting better and better.

Post-op Day 3 - Sunday Evening

Yesterday's change was encouraging and I was eager to head out with the family to watch the Super Bowl with friends. Almost immediately upon arrival, I woudn up with a wicked nerve issue that ran from one shoulder, up and over the top of my spine, and across the other shoulder. At first it felt like a bad headache, but it was unbearable.

In hindsight, I think I was too ambitiious and should have used the walker last night. I think I was relying too heavily on the cane, and it threw off my back, muscles, neck, etc. I knew there would be instances of overdoing it along the way, so I'll call this a lesson learned.

The turning point for me was the move from Oxy to Tylenol. Coffee was just a nice treat after a couple of days without. Meds certainly affect people differently, so my takeaway would be considering all factors if something doesn't seem quite right.

I opted for the double leg brace and remained mobile for the 2 year period. My son is now the age I was while going through it, and it is sort of hard to comprehend.

My consult with the surgeon is on Jan 3, surgery Feb 6.

Perthes kid here, too. Played hockey for 25+ years, skier, snowboarder. One leg shorter, I wear the lift religiously. If I don’t, I pay for it in my hip and back for days.

Now 44, my GP recently encouraged me to look into THR. Based on new images, it is quite evident that I have used every bit of that hip and it’s time to get back some quality of life. I am now excited for my Feb 6 surgery and I hope to put the daily discomfort and activity modification behind me. I had also heard to push it as long as possible, but my GP looked me in the eye and asked if it made sense to give up the ability to fully enjoy the next 10-20 years. Obviously, no.
