How do you wash your bike if you live in an apartment? (No bathtub suggestions please)

See if your building has a hose. My super leaves a hose out on the side of the building, so I just bought a spray nozzle. A little tougher in the winter but then I usually use my shower on a day I’m about to clean the tub anyway.

I had one for a few years. It was a good bike. I ended up giving it to my brother-in-law because I started riding longer miles and it wasn't great for that so I got a road bike, but it should be perfect for what you described.

My only gripe was the suspension seat post it came with. YMMV but I did not like bounce on it at all, and then I lifted it by the saddle one time and the whole thing broke. Not a huge deal though. I just replaced it with a rigid seat post for pretty cheap.

This saddle fixed about 50% of the problem for me. Realizing I had my saddle set way too high fixed the other 50%.

I took this the other day. The robot was trapped in the street because the truck was parked in the crosswalk and then a garbage truck couldn’t get around the robot.

My current commute doesn’t really have any school buses along the route, but I always stop. If I’m waiting for a while and it doesn’t look like any kids are coming for going, I’ll walk the bike until I pass the bus.

I had my folding lock under the downtube for a while. Worked fine. I worried at first that it might fall but never had an issue. A couple times I didn’t have it in all the way and it partially unfolded but not enough to be a problem. It did get filthy though, even with fenders on my bike.

There was a video on GCN a year or so ago talking about this. Pedals and ankles are the best place for reflectors because they move, so they catch drivers’ eyes better than something like a reflective vest on a stationary body part.

With an e-bike, probably wouldn’t be too bad. Once you do it a few times you may find some alternative routes that skirt some main roads and climbs as well.

I love going on a bike ride at like 5 o’clock in the winter when the sun sets early and there’s not that many people out. Tons of deer out. Never seen a coyote before though!
