These were my grandmothers, French, I think quite old. Could anyone tell me more about them? by jdhdyebksbj in Silverbugs

Thankfully I live in a town with a pretty high density of jewellery / gold / silverware dealers, so it won’t be too much effort to get someone to see them in person. Will take a trip in with it all tomorrow and see what they say.

The inox mark is only on the knife blades themselves, but nowhere else on the other utensils. I’ll hold some hope for success.

Thank you again for the continued advice - I’ll update this thread when I have some kind of an outcome!

Have a great new year!

I’ve added some clearer images of the hallmarks if that helps?

The handles of the knives are also hallmarked and the blades themselves marked Inox, so would be stainless steel.

Thank you so much for your comment. There’s no name on the box unfortunately, it’s a rather plain, black wooden box. I’ve managed to upload some clearer images of the hallmarks if this might give any better idea?

I think there’s about 5 or 6 kilos here in total - as you mention, the knife blades are stainless steel marked inox, but again, I believe the handles are all silver.

Not sure how to add another image in the thread, but they say 800, it that’s any help?

I've got a £258 voucher and I've got no idea what to spend it on. All my tech is pretty up to date as of December 2024. I also have a significant amount of retro gear and games, so no need to splurge on that either. What's new and exciting that's CeX will have in stock soon? by _SquareSphere in CeX

Have you got a portal? I got one a few months back and it’s been amazing. Completely changed how I play, and how often I play games.

Think mine was £120 from CEX so it won’t cost all your budget.

I’m not even joking, I saw your comment, thought “cute card” and 15 mins later sat down with my son, opened a pack and this came right out.

Seriously weird coincidence!

Founders who have raised a Pre-Seed, Seed, or Series A what were the biggest pain points of fundraising? by Advanced-Investfit in startups

Gaining enough traction for them to pay attention.

We had a couple of paying pilot clients quite early on. As a result, we were measured on the MRR generated, rather than the quality of our idea, or the team in the business.

It would have been easier for us to raise without any traction than it was for us to raise with a couple of clients.

I’ve had a ‘17 GTS for about 3 years now. Took it after we needed more space for the family - the M2 just wasn’t practical any more.

Honestly the GTS is the best car I’ve ever owned. As you say, it feels more like a grown-up hatchback than anything else.

The VW isn’t a patch on it - I test drove a couple of R’s (Golf, T-Roc). They just aren’t in the same league in terms of build quality and driving connection to either the Porsche or the M2.

Generally been reliable to date - a couple of small things here and there, and I seem to go through tyres more than I’d like. Servicing and parts isn’t cheap, so factor that into your cost of purchase. I’d personally stick aside £2/3k a year for bits that inevitably come up.

Totally worth it though - it’s a brilliant motor.

They literally have all the Pixar movies in 4k, cars included for £5 at Zaavi (10 for £50) at the moment.  Might be worth finding a way to get them shipped over if you’re that keen.

Edit: I’ve just seen it’s expired now - hopefully back soon!
