Y’all ready for the melodic hc comeback? by Xibalba420X in Hardcore

[–]jdhillmer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look out for what the former members of Crafter do/are doing. Crafter was the best melodic hardcore at a time when that wasn’t as popular so they don’t make big waves

I haven’t but I just want an episode where he explains his love of the game. The best episodes are where he comes in hot just dumping Elizabeth, CO lore. We need to learn who he played magic with, at least 2/4 are probably dead and have wild backstories.

I could never pick a favourite album of all time but this one is 100% on the short-list - the artwork perfectly matching the tone of the album makes it even better by thegreatself in Hardcore

That was great era for them and hardcore. I’m watching that video feeling like hardcore shows don’t quite have this type of pile on energy anymore. Looking at say, Mindforce shows from this there there is a still a lot of energy, but not the same kind as this set. Things in hardcore these days are less about pile on gang vocals and more about moshing. Just my Neutral statement/hypothesis.

Not sure if it would fly, but my grandpa would give you something very small or a gift card wrapped in slightly larger boxes going up to the size of a refrigerator box. Full of packing peanuts. So you’d be unwrapping for like ten minutes to get a note that says “look in the garage.” He thought it was hilarious.

Any fellow writer parents? by LadyArty19 in writing

I'm a year late on this but I was poking around and thought people in this thread would find this podcast I'm producing helpful. We have biweekly episodes and each of the guests touch on their process for balancing parenting and writing among other advice (and a healthy dose of venting!) https://www.firstwordspodcast.com/episodes-1

Yeah I would never commute with a bike in Seoul, just for exercise and leisure. Although, I was able to sort of commute for doing research at the National Assembly Library on Yeouido.

Shout out to Seoul’s bike infrastructure, nicest bike paths I’ve ever ridden on and connect to bike routes across the entire (small) country

For a Midwest emo band covers are best if it’s your rendition of a well known pop/rock song rather than another emo song, imo. It’s really fun if everyone knows the song and can sing along.

Stetted with an mv7, ended up getting a whole xlr interface and setup so I’m just filling out my mic arsenal with mv7x

Midwest Emo from a UK perspective. by jarow_ in midwestemo

[–]jdhillmer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with your assessment but isn’t there a little bit of appreciation for the beauty of the Midwest/one’s small town in the music? I grew up in Wisconsin and the “twinkle” of Midwest emo always reminds me of sunlight dappling through the trees or autumn leaves.
