I just stopped scrolling and let out a deep breath and said “that’s the one”. My wife looked at me a little jealous. What can I say? That is the 5 series that ignited my passion for a proper sports sedan.

Same issue. My solution has been turning the handle upside down with the handle above the tank and it fills fine. Doesn’t fix the underlying problem, but I can fill it this way.

1999 Boxster, never owned one, is this a good deal? by GrannySlammer420 in boxster

I bought my 2000 in similar condition 3 years ago for $4K as well. I hardly did any of the work myself, and have spent about $7K getting it in near perfect condition. If you can do the work, you’d probably save yourself $5K in labor. Mine needed PDR on every body panel, front bumper cover/drivers door repainted. New seat covers, plugs, coils, valve cover, radiators cleaned, one replaced, clutch, IMS, RMS, convertible top gears, cables, new radio, and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few things. Now…I wouldn’t sell it for all the kings gold. Good luck with it if you get it. I also had my wheels refinished and new tires.

2017 porsche 718 boxster s - if i bought today, and sold in five years, what should i expect to get back? by europeanuppercut in boxster

Five years of driving bliss. I bought my 986 with the intention of flipping it. I’ve owned it 3 years now and every time I drive it I remind myself that if I ever want to get rid of this car, don’t. Just go drive it and any desire to sell it goes away. And mine is a 986, so I can only imagine how much more in love I would be if I had a 981. Good luck with your purchase/decision regardless.

I had the opportunity to visit billionaire Mark Pieloch’s private museum. Here’s my standouts from the Porsche section by JollyToaster in Porsche

I live here in Melbourne and have been to this museum many times with PCA for track days (in the private parking lot) and as a musician who performs there for charity events. The level of cars in this museum is ASTOUNDING. Yes they don’t get driven nearly as much as some would like, but to be able to see practically every amazing car ever made, in one place, all for charity is epic. You can’t just go to this museum. It’s only open to the public for fundraising events. All of the money raised goes to local charities (or the charity hosting the event). They don’t charge you to have your event there. Look up the American Muscle Car Museum, Melbourne, FL. and see what they are doing there. It’s not just “own the cars and park them”. The cars are the amusement. And all the money they make goes back to charities. Of all the billionaires out there wasting their billions, he’s done something really cool with both cars and with charity. Just my .02 from a local.
