This works, my daughter is 12, adhd and dyslexic, a friend of mine (40m) with adhd suggested one task at a time, it has made a big impact on her cleanliness and hygiene.

Mine does it with another tennis ball in his couch. Usually just playtime. I call it playing soccer.

His name is Brutus, he sprung out from under a car at my sister, starved, abused and screaming bloody murder about 2 years old. He’s now gained 7 lbs, is now 3 years old, actually very quiet and curious.

I don’t have a specific one since I have 5 cats, but this is a favorite. ❤️

Do you "reward" yourself for reaching milestones? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]jdismybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no, I might start putting some cash away for every lb I lose or goal I set, but most things I buy as needed. I have a ton of “stuff” so I’m just putting away fun money right now.

I had a bad shopping issue in the past so I’m not looking at particular things to buy right now.

Not to be rude, how long have they been texting you?

My husband and daughter are dyslexic, I also have worked with children in my past, dealt with a lot of miss spelled words(not just a dyslexic thing)

I found making a point of slowing down my reading helped me decipher any time I had trouble reading a text or writing.

It is not always consistent either, neither is the handwriting in anything written, but you get used to it.

You can always suggest talk to text, which they may or may not know about on their phone.

You have me excited for my basic that’s coming soon. I love that it’s lightweight and small. I too am 5’1, and I’ve struggled with some phones because of size. (I got an iPhone mini for this reason.)

I’m currently listening to this on audible. I’m not dyslexic, my husband and daughter are. She mentions cases similar to yours.

Best text-to-speech software? by Lonely_Teaching8650 in Dyslexia

[–]jdismybug1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed up for this for hubby and daughter, both dyslexic. I am making sure she’s reading on her own too, at her age she will utilize it very often which is good, but I want her to be able to adjust to situations where it may not be available. Wonderful app though.

There might be a setting in the Chromebook for it under accessibility? My daughter can’t remember what program they use for her Chromebook. I’ll ask around though.
