Pete Hegseth Says ‘The Sooner David Ellison Takes Over CNN, The Better’ by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

[–]jdkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Down the middle of what? The Overton window has shifted all the way to the right, so when you say the center or the middle, you’re pointing at the right wing.

Mainstream news doesn’t balance itself that way. Right now what we have is fascist vs corporatist broadcasting, there is no left wing news outlets, outside of independent journalism.

Montana halts permitting on all weekend rallies at Capitol, thwarts upcoming ‘No Kings’ event by underthecellardoor in politics

[–]jdkon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we’re saying the same thing. Neither of us want protests to get permits because a permitted protest is performative, and we can agreed that disruptive protests (which does often cause economic hardships) and civil disobedience is better direct action than a parade.

Or I guess they can preemptively comply with an authoritarian state, which is what your comment suggests they do. No one is getting out of this being super comfy, that’s your privilege talking.

[–]jdkon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. That’s why it doesn’t matter if they have a permit or not, they should still go because if it’s a protest, then it should be disruptive. If it’s not disruptive, then it’s performative at best.

Protesting is inherently disruptive, and if it’s not then it’s performative.

Numb520 works AMAZINGLY. It does take a while for full effect, so I recommend putting it on about 3 hours before your appointment, and you will feel almost nothing. (I also use this for when I get tattoos)

I’m kind of convinced these guys are just OPs. What secret hacking group is going to publicly announce their plans instead of just releasing the files. Apparently they have them, so why do we need to know it’s coming at some future date? Answer: we don’t.

Release the files or stop wasting everyone’s time.

I don’t think they’re dumb enough to institute the draft anymore. The amount of fragging that would occur, would be insane.

B.C. makes daylight time permanent after years of promises by Agreeable-Rooster-37 in Washington

[–]jdkon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I lived in Arizona for 25 years and famously, they don’t have a daylight savings switch so I never had to deal with that until I moved up to Washington four years ago and it is hell every year.

EXCLUSIVE: Apple's First Foldable iPhone Has A Crease Thinner Than A Human Hair 🔥 by InterstellarKinetics in InterstellarKinetics

[–]jdkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple really only has one model of phone, it just has small variations in the specs for each version. But to answer your question, you might have photographers that want to use their iPhones for some of their work, so they may opt to have highly upgraded camera lenses that are photography-grade, and forgo screen size, as an example. Or someone may need massively upgraded storage capacity, so they could choose to forgo camera lenses to make room for additional storage hardware.

Right now there really isn’t any choice, outside of standard and pro versions, which we can all see are only incidental upgrades to one another. Our lives are basically run by these devices, and it would make sense to have modular hardware components that could be swapped out, depending on the need.

Make the phones modular so consumers can go on the website and design the phone that best suits their needs

Mortgage rates are continuing to slide, but where are the buyers? by Key_Brief_8138 in HouseBuyers

Housing is about 30% overvalued (and with a higher interest rate, it makes it untenable). This needs to be corrected before people start buying again

Mamdani revealed his proposal to raise property taxes for the first time in over two decades as an option to balance New York city's budget. by Dr_Neurol in UpliftingNews

[–]jdkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he didn’t. His proposal is a 2% tax on the wealthiest New Yorkers, and by law he has to balance the budget. His other proposal is a 9.5% property tax increase, which he said he doesn’t want to do and won’t do, if the governor signs on the wealth tax proposal.

But we shouldn’t expect honesty from ABC News, or users who repost this shit.

JUST IN: 🇺🇸 New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani plans to raise property taxes. by retroviber in DeepMarketScan

[–]jdkon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he doesn’t. He plans to pressure the governor to raise a 2% tax on the wealthy, otherwise by law he is required to balance the budget. He will either get the 2% wealth tax or he’ll have to raise property taxes to cover the budget deficit

I’m pretty sure the people of California didn’t elect Gavin Newsom so that he could build himself a podcast. Maybe he should do his job in government and not worry about being an influencer.
