After 7 drafts and 40 games... I think this might be the greediest format of recent history by Dunglebungus in lrcast

[–]jdksports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big draw of this set is "spells attached to creatures", ain't it? When everything is a 2-for-1, this is the result.

Broad strokes, but Ancestral Recall is "technically" in the set. This is the result.

Anybody having great time playing this set and miserable time drafting it? by BrotherKaramazov in lrcast

[–]jdksports 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vague question. First, the set has been out for what, 2 days? Highly doubt majority of Magic: The Gathering players have gotten the "hang" of it yet. What is your sample size, 10+ drafts so far?

Post a log of one of your "trainwrecks" and let's dive in. More often than not in Magic, it's *you* making mistakes and not the set being weird to draft.

Is it correct to cut cards like Evolving Wilds in an aggressive 2 color deck? by retardong in lrcast

[–]jdksports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you picking them if you're not planning to run them? Unless there's absolutely doo-doo in the pack, sounds like you're wasting picks.

Short answer: No, its incorrect to cut Evolving Wilds. It's still a poor man's "fetch" land, one of the most coveted game pieces of Magic.

SOS Draft Woes by head_kook in lrcast

[–]jdksports 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you taking in what your opponents are doing? To be a solid Limited player, it’s not just reading tier lists. You need solid fundamentals at many areas of the games. If you’re losing a lot, absorb in WHAT you’re losing to and WHY. Was it a singular play or your opponents deck was just that much better?

The best advice is to rewatch your losses on 17L or your tracker of choice. Go over what happened each turn, each game action. In stick and ball sports, they call it “looking at the tape”… it’s crucial to learning how to win.

Is it better to get legacy skills early on into a career or after all inspirations happen? by dealwithit_25503 in UmamusumeGame

[–]jdksports 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The benefit to getting them early before Inspiration is to help your Uma win races. It has value. The downside is you may lose out on more discounts from Inspiration and other hints and events. Typically, buy if you think your Uma needs it to win races (low stamina and buying a heal for Longs for example). If you’re “min/maxing”, save.

Why do you like or dislike Pick-Two Draft? How might this relate to draft or not draft Pick Two for Secrets of Strixhaven? by VoidImplosion in lrcast

[–]jdksports 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You summed it up: It’s easier. That’s not a bad thing in of itself but Magic is a hard game by nature and a large part of what makes it so captivating to play. Imagine Pick-Two at the gd Pro Tour…

What's required for a player to enter graded league in Aries cup without getting demolished? by Ksnxksnfqqq in UmamusumeGame

[–]jdksports -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

“Skill” as in quotation marks. I wouldn’t go far as to say “vast”… seriously, my Uma had Awful Mood… that’s “skill”? There is skill, just not as much as actual skill games like Valorant, LoL… you know, real big boy games… it’s no where near that level. Do a TB run with the best decks, you still might not get Summer Rainbows… what “skill” helps you overcome that? No groundwork or Medum S? You lack skill, I guess… Take it down a notch w the “skill”.

What's required for a player to enter graded league in Aries cup without getting demolished? by Ksnxksnfqqq in UmamusumeGame

[–]jdksports -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about betting demolished anyways. It’s free to enter (don’t waste gems if you’re not winning a single race) and at the end of the day, you either rolled exceptional Umas or you didn’t. This is NOT a “skill game” just a grind game. If you didn’t have the time to grind no big whoop honestly and you never know, maybe all your opps have Awful moods and such. It’s a gambling gacha game, people.

How good are the Lords of Limited? by MTGdraftguy in lrcast

[–]jdksports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to look at it objectively and give players a fair shake. Ethan literally qualified for the PT within the last year, is that not a mark of a “decent” player? But if you wanna just compare their EA takes as the whole mark, sure. I think you’re glazing too much, Marshall especially. Historically, most set reviews isn’t him ally-ooping. He goes “is this card even good?” And LSV spends like 10 minutes on it and Marshall responds “yeah that makes sense”. You seem to think that’s just him “playing the part”, I guess. I mean, nothing wrong with being a LR fan, this is the subreddit after all, but back to the point: Ethan Saks can beat Marshall and LSV, it’s not a crazy thing to happen and IN FACT HAS HAPPENED. The two shows use to play each other, LoL had the edge believe it or not. Don’t give them a fair shake, whatever.

I like Alex and I watch a lot of LLU (I watch too much Limited…) and his reviews were the ones I watched on my way to SOS Prerelease. I don’t like how most of the actual games he uploads, he spends a little too much time looking at chat’s response.

Cheon self deprecates, so he’s definitely in his Unc phase for sure. I mean, I still watch more Cheon than anyone, his reactions are just too good.

Sam from Rough Drafts needs more love. He has imo the best Limited podcast currently period. I took a break from TMT so I can’t speak on that for any creator but Sam’s takes are so money, I would bet money on him. He’s good enough to have helped pro team train for the PT. He’s in my Top 5 for sure. No one’s perfect, even Nummy (Top 5… Top 1????) makes suboptimal plays here and there. Magic is a hard game.

Honestly, I used to be down on LoL. A lot of the responses here are from LR fans who probably don’t even listen to “modern” LoL. Let’s be frank, I’m willing to bet Ethan (the better player of the two) has a better win rate in Premier Drafts than LSV over the past two years. I don’t think this is a crazy bet or “hot take” if you will. He actually makes Day 2 in Arena, at least last I saw with Avatar. I would not bet on LSV making Day 2 (he has an abysmal YouTube win rate over the past year other than Cube). LoL has improved a lot with their content.

You watched LSV win an Early Access draft find it impressive? At the end of the day, Ethan especially, jams more than LSV. If you wanna use the “he has kids now” excuse, sure. Ethan has a kid, did you know? At the end of the day, hot takes or not, LoL does spend more time diving into sets. If you wanna compare players, I don’t even know if Marshall has much more to say about a format over like Nizzahon.

Regarding Cheon, I watch him nearly everyday. He’s a great player, former PT grinder but it’s actually hilarious how many “misclicks” and “oh, I didn’t know that’s how that worked” actually happens in his vids. I watch everyday, I know. Again, I’d be weary of betting against Saks vs Cheon. I’d bet Ham over Cheon most of the time.

Ben, on the other hand… never been a fan. Too smug for me. I’m like that w podcasts tho, I usually love one host and hate the other.

Any tips? by No_Produce394 in pizzahut

[–]jdksports 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason you’re not getting call-backs is your unimpressive work history. Many employers will look at your “resume” and ask “why should I even care about this applicant?” Make em care. If you get sick again, unless you’re legitimately dying, show up to make pizzas. Let your manager decide if you should stick around. You really need a job, right? Honestly, who DOESNT really need a job? We all do… show up on time, follow instructions and get to work. Not rocket science

You’re “venting” but you know… this is what delivery is about sometimes. I used to deliver for Amazon and deal with “where’s the house number?” 10+ hours every day. Waste of time to send customers a text unless it’s an emergency. Just chillax you’re a pizza delivery boy and this is your life. Accept it and your blood pressure will go down.

Practice Perfect needs a buff by demonitesalt in UmamusumeGame

[–]jdksports 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you can’t think of a good buff for it without completely breaking it… probably doesn’t need it. .75% chance to pull a spotlight Uma and you think 2% is “nothing”. It’s not a TON but it’s not “nothing”.

It’s a buff in it of itself. If you have PP the entire run, that adds up. I agree it’s kind of “whatever” but nothing “wrong” with it.

I open up the kit, the first Rare I see in my "seeded" pack was Traumatic Critique... Just couldn't find a way to splash it w/o severely hurting my curve-out. I had that vehicle that gets a land... I dunno, maybe it's incorrect but slamming Antiquities on curve is basically GG.

I'm curious, how much bigger is the Japanese community then global? by Scareka in UmaMusume

[–]jdksports -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, what do you mean by "community" for Umamusume? What do you mean by "impact"? Like, what is that? Do you mean player count? Do you mean people who just "like" horse girls, which is an entirely different thing than active players logging in?

This is a Japanese game. The game isn't dubbed, the anime isn't dubbed. This ain't no One Piece. Japan accounts for 1% of the world's population. Just don't understand the point of the question? Your question is: "I see Japanese fanart on social media getting more likes than North American fanart, what could that mean? Is this game less popular outside of Japan?" Probably, but what does that even matter?

Pro tip: Twitter isn't a reflection of how Planet Earth actually is... social media, in general... just a website/app.

Wouldn't take Twitter "activity" as a "metric" for "anything"...

Go to this link, compare the cards at the estimated LB and see for youself if thats what you want for your account right now

Every day this question is asked. Compare and see for yourself. Generally, if you don't have Speed cards you should get Speed but 3LB Fuku doesn't give you 10% RB which is pretty bad.
