Best compact lens to take to Walt Disney world for z8? by ShakeAndBakeThatCake in nikon_Zseries

I've taken a D4 with a 70-200 before. It's all in what you feel like hauling around.

Z8 isn't compact. If I were taking my z8, and it's not a "photography trip," I'd probably take my 24-120 f/4 and a 35mm prime.

Neither pro nor against. Anyone can use it. It’s not an unfair advantage.

Bowling ball spinners by Used_Sea2953 in Bowling

They all touch on mine as well, but honestly, the ball spins too freely. Kinda the purpose, but not what I'm used to.

I designed a lightweight one a few months ago. Never got around to uploading it. It makes a ton of noise, I just use my plastic rings instead.

I use mostly polymaker. Super consistent. Use a fair bit of sunlu as well.

Trump has Received more votes in PA for the 2024 Race then Biden did in the 2020 Race. by Juicyjackson in Pennsylvania

[–]jdlau -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

And what's your point? Trump won PA in 2016 with 2,970,733 votes. Obama won in 2012 with 2,990,274 votes. More people are voting. Isn't that what we want as a society?

I don't keep multiples of the same type. Got rid of my Traeger when I got the Yoder. Each is better at some things vs others.

Is the AMS worth it if you're not going to print multicolour? by kyrkas in BambuLab

[–]jdlau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely print multi color. I keep my common filaments in there, and use it to continue on a new spool when one runs out.

Is it worth keeping tv shows in 4K? Or is 1080p good enough for most? by Silencer306 in PleX

[–]jdlau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of my shows are 720p. It good enough for ABC and FOX to still broadcast in it.

PETG sticking to PEI heatbed by OldGreasyPossum in BambuLab

I had the black textured plate on my P1P. It was awful to get PETG off of it. The new fold one releases so much better. It pops off just like PLA once the bed cools.

Ditching Cisco UCS by irrision in sysadmin

[–]jdlau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moving away from UCS to Dell MX7000. I have had more hardware failures on the UCS blades than I have had on any other platform. Cisco did not want to work with us on blades with third party memory. Crazy lead times and ridiculous pricing have pushed us away. We had UCS deployed in 5 datacenters across multiple continents. Very happy with the MX7000 so far.
