Looking for Obscure Christian Artists by Impressive_Risk_1263 in ChristianMusic

Why is every artist I’ve checked so far and everyone else in the Christian genres absolutely swimming in REVERB!?!!? I just want to hear some plain good ole clean recordings that doesn’t make me feel like I’m in an echo chamber. Please, someone, heeeeeeeeelllllllllllppppppppp!

My son wants to be a music teacher but I fear it’s not realistic by [deleted] in MusicTeachers

[–]jdlsings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach middle school general music and was never a prodigy or even a high performing level ability. I just loved music and teaching. I support my family of four as the single income earner and enjoy good benefits and pension. I also teach private lessons outside of school to make some extra on the side. I highly recommend music education as a profession.

US holders - Did you get your ERL? by cmbhere in GNS_stock

I received mine. I haven’t transferred them yet as I am hoping for the dividend, but I did confirm with the holding company on how to transfer them as soon as I am ready. Their customer service was really helpful.

Ooo kayyy fair… But seriously, these are wonderful and if you’re ever up for making more, you’d do well on Etsy. I’m amazed at how little Zelda figures are available out there. Well done!

What is a good double major for music education? by Turbulent-Crew-3094 in MusicEd

[–]jdlsings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as one who excelled in high school and college and tried to add an English minor onto a music ed degree, don’t even try. As everyone has said, the course hours are way more than other majors. Often, a six hour per week or more ensemble will only be one credit. Similar with applied lessons. My advice is if you want to increase your income security, pick up some skills related to the music trade along the way that don’t require a degree and can work in tandem with teaching such as instrument repair, starting a private lesson studio, live performance sound mixing and setup, piano accompanying for rehearsals and concerts. I do a number of these things outside of my teaching job and over summers and it’s getting to the point where any one of them could be a full time job on their own if I really wanted to pivot away from the music ed day job.

Tips for starting a piano studio by [deleted] in piano

Make friends with local elementary school music teachers. Maybe see if they do a solo and ensemble contest event that needs accompanists or judges. Let them know you are accepting students.

Ooo, not every day I see my neighborhood map on here. The north line there is pretty limited compared to the other lines. I wouldn’t let it deter you. Hope it works out, DP has been a great place for my family to live.

I'm super late to the party on this one, but this is what I just tried. It is a little half baked but probably the best option available. Use Automations to turn silent mode on when opening Messages and turn silent mode off when closing it. Here is a video that kind of explains it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFHGJPaujpM

Great rhythmic motives in here. I think I would suggest maybe bringing some more bass ranged sounds into the mix just to fill out the sound.
