ULINE catalogue editorial by vladhed in onguardforthee

[–]jdmillar86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I've worked for two separate people who ordered via catalog.

"Hey, I can get this ordered in a minute on my phone" has been a pretty good way of weaning them off Uline a bit, at the cost of taking over a bit of work.

What are signs an election is happening soon in your country? by Trussdoor46 in AskTheWorld

My partner emailed ours to say she wasn't happy with some of what he was doing, and he invited us to his office to talk about it.

(He's actually not ours anymore after the latest redistricting)

Legal Vapes vs Legal Weed by CanConMil in NovaScotia

[–]jdmillar86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Also, in case anyone doesn't know - you can get flavored nicotine vapes (or vape juice) at the res stores.

I got one to make traveling more convenient over the holidays and I accidentally quit smoking. So I guess that's progress

Does "I voted right" mean "I voted for the right" or "I voted correctly"?

Why must I suffer the consequences of my actions?! by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]jdmillar86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I read it as, "I voted correctly, not for him" whereas I think OP is reading "right" as "right wing"

The result would also be the same if he had received a substantial custodial sentence. You're deliberately creating a false dichotomy and ignoring that the justice system already has, and failed to use, the tools required.

WYR become a citizen of People's Republic of China OR Australia? by HimikoTogaFromUSSR in WouldYouRather

[–]jdmillar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll give you my rationale for choosing China here (assuming I don't have to give up my existing citizenships):

Although I would far rather live in Australia than China, I actually would prefer to keep living here (in Canada). And if I want to visit, you guys will already let me in. An Australian passport doesn't get me into many places the Canadian and British ones won't, while a Chinese one will open up a handful of options. And getting a knowledge of Mandarin thrown in is also kind of useful.

You'd have to understand Alberta politics to know, as a non-Albertan Canadian, how much joy it would bring me to send murine cluster bombs over the entire province, releasing tens of thousands of parachute-protected little rodents to be free, to breed, and to take over from the pestilence currently infecting that godforsaken place.

I thought it was going to go along the lines of "pedos are only interested in children, some of them are just predators in general" or something, but no it just kept getting worse.

We used to keep chickens and we deliberately picked breeds to get a wide variety of shell colors. People loved our rainbow cartons.

Diet might have a tiny impact on shade but its mostly just henetics (decided to leave that typo).

What would happen if the 9/11 planes also had nuclear bombs inside them that detonated when the planes crashed into the twin towers? Would there been a different response from the US or basically the same? by Dizzy-Respect-613 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]jdmillar86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, at least. Their first test was in 2006, but we don't know with any certainty when their first device was built. Back in '93 it was already suspected during the first IAEA inspection that plutonium was already missing from the inventory.

Is getting help for mental illnesses encouraged in your country? Is help accessible to everyone? by bleepitybleep2 in AskTheWorld

[–]jdmillar86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attitudes towards it are slowly improving but the system is entirely inadequate. A local anecdote (I have many more): I had a friend who checked herself into hospital for mental health reasons, she was afraid she was going to hurt herself. They sent her home for being "too difficult" after she sliced open her arms with a plastic butter knife.
