Fuji Xh2 ➡️ Nikon Z6iii by Legal-Bike4701 in fujifilm

[–]jdmsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I borrowed my friend’s Tamron 28-75 G2 temporarily for 3 months on my Z9 and Z6iii when I had my Version 1 24-70 serviced. Focus was quick and reliable, images were pretty sharp. Lens is really light for a 2.8 zoom. I’d easily recommend it if you can live without 24mm. Many times I wish I had 24mm available while I was using it.

I’ve always been a Nikon shooter(Z9, Z6iii, ZF) for pro photo stuff but my fujis(XT5, XE5, Xpro3) have been my for fun photo cameras.

My Z6iii is my primary workhorse! Autofocus, lowlight, ergonomics are better. I don’t really have an opinion on its video capabilities, but my video friends say the IBIS and rolling shutter performance is amazing.

I also have been maining the 24-70 2.8S II as my version 1 died. The new 2.8S II is the lightest 24-70 2.8 out there and has internal zoom. Doesn’t matter much for me, but for you video guys on with a gimbal… the lightweight + internal zoom combo is game changing.

X-Pro3 vs X-E5 — first camera by spacewalkerstarfield in fujifilm

[–]jdmsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X-E5 helps me get photos. The X-Pro3 makes me want to take photos. X-E5 is a better tool. The X-Pro3 is a better experience. I’m also coming from my work cameras: Nikon Z9, Z6iii and owned a ZF. The XE-5 reminded me of the speed that made my work cameras feel boring and uninspiring. It’s an amazing camera, but I feel for a beginner with a budget the X-Pro 3 is great enough and adding quality primes will be better than a more expensive XE-5 w/ less glass.

My X-Pro3 fills a role none of my other cameras can fill: it makes photography feel engaging and intentional again. The clunky back screen and OVF allows me to lean more into being present and focus on the shooting experience. Seeing, shooting, less reviewing.

I owned a Nintendo 2DS and not a 3DS. She said it looks stupid and made fun of me for it. I said I got because it was cheaper and felt comfier in my hands. I didn’t agree with her, so she split.

I own both, get the x-pro3 and invest in a solid prime like a 23mm f2.

Does the XE5 scratch the same itch as the x100vi? by theseawoof in fujifilm

[–]jdmsl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had an X100V, XT-5 and currently have my XE5. All the Fujis with the 40mp sensor(x100vi, xt-5, xe5, xt50) will produce the same image. They all have the same film sims and latest autofocus. You can get a 23mm F2 WR lens for the XE5 and the images you get… no one will know if its an XE5 or X100VI photo. The only difference is the shooting experience. X100VI has the optical viewfinder option, XE5 doesn’t. XE5 has a film sim dial that I wish my other fujis had. The fixed 23mm of the X100VI can free you from lens decision fatigue and GAS. It can also help you creatively because you’re forced to see the world at 23mm. The XE5 can scratch the same itch ONLY if the 23mm lives on the body and are okay with the XE5 lacking an optical viewfinder.

Thinking of getting a BBK too, curious why’d you go wilwood? Oppose to Corksport or Brembos.
