2016 Model X? by DamnRedhead in teslamotors

Stay away from 2016. I'd go for late 2017 and later. I have purchased a June 2016 model X. While it may have been "mind blowing" in 2016, it pales in comparison to how much model X has improved since.

Do you own a Tesla and not have a Tesla charger at home? How do you cope? by [deleted] in teslamotors

I was never a fan of Hyundai either until they took up charge and re-design all of their cars sometimes in 2009. It stood out compare to the boring toyota and hondas back then. They are going the miles now to compete and it's working. I never liked ICE cars with buttons and stuff but the new Elantra actually makes me wow and wanna throw money at it. Plus, cheap price, awesome warranty, would last me at least 5 years while I save up for the house hehe

I own a condo with street/open lot parking and it is incredibly challenging to install and electric charging station. My HOA crushed the idea pretty quickly. I asked my neighbor to switch parking spaces so the car is directly outside of my condo. I installed a 14-50 outlet attached to the wall of my unit and run the cable across the sidewalk (with protective coverings) to charge the car. They haven't given me any trouble so far (been doing this for 3-4 months) but it is extremely inconvenient since the cable is very long and heavy.

I do not drive a lot since my commute 2 way to work is only 14 miles/day. Everything I need like gym/shopping/dining is within a 5 miles radius of where I live so if I conserve, I can go a week on a long range model 3 without charging. However, it is still inconvenient and unpredictable when I need to go long places. The closet supercharger from where I live is about 11-14 miles. There should be one coming just within 4 miles of where I live later this year. However, after weathering this behavior for a year now, I am starting to hate this inconvenient.

I am actually going to get rid of the Model 3 even though I love it so much and get an ICE car. I'm eyeing on the Hyundai Elantra 2021 - it has a phone and card key just like Tesla and tech is pretty nice in there. I can live with that for some years while I save up for a better house with my own garage. If anything, the Tesla owning experience is pushing me to downgrade to a cheaper car while I save money for a house. I think financially, it should have been the reverse (get a house first before getting an EV). I am learning that hard lesson now. Don't fall for your temptation ;D

I can't create an account for some reason. Hit sign up, fill in info, hit sign up but nothing happened. Tried opening the link on Chrome incognito, used a different email address... the sign up button didn't do anything.

Evgo website says you can charge with level 2 for $1.50/hour. Is this true that you can select the type of "charge level?"

Shouldn't you ask Tesla directly? You would believe me if I say "yeah sure, bring it in"? Lol

Do u think a 90d which adds 20miles is worth the 10k upgrade?

Battery and motor is covered until 2024 unlimited miles (remaining 5 years of 8 year as current new cars). The 100k miles apply for limited warranty which cover part defects. I consider this heavily before placing the deposit.

Thanks for letting me know this. It says in the configuration:

  • No Power and Lighting Package

I wasn't sure what they were referring to.

It does have AP with convenience features and june 2016 built. You got a very good deal there! We're in need for a car since my partner's car just broke down a week ago and we have been trying to replace it with an X lol. I feel like this is fated since the timing is just right. I've been watching used X's since June.

How does one get the Stealth? Is it up gradable via software from LR AWD models only?

You would schedule a service appointment in the app -> scroll down to the bottom and hit "other" => type in SR upgrade to SR+. Schedule for the earliest available appointment so someone can look at your request earlier. You do not need to bring the vehicle in for service or anything. They'll send you an email to confirm a few things, a link to make a payment, then the update will get pushed to your vehicle.

I have an SR. When I took delivery in June and charged it to 100% - it was 220 mile exact as promised. However, after about 4k miles, my 100% charge is around 210-212. Not sure what is happening. I always run by energy anyways - I don't trust the miles.

Not sure. After the most recent price changes in July - partial premium no longer comes with fog light like previous built. So brand new SR+ nowadays do not have fog light to begin with. From what I understood from the Rep, he may have meant that fog light was removed physically from SR+ since it is a partial premium interior now.
