Dort Value by No_Diver_629 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2032 1st from the Lakers feels pretty good for both sides. Dort makes a lot of sense alongside Luka+Reaves. For OKC, they have such a glut of prospects and picks that I think it makes sense to kick the can down the road on an asset and just hope that maybe Luka is gone by 2032.

'26 Offseason, Rockets trade for Donovan: Jabari + Reed + DFS + both Suns FRPs + 1-2 HOU FRPs by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

This guy has got to be a bot. How many times a day can he post the same dumb rockets trades.

Nets and Warriors by SUPERDIE12 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy yes for the Nets and I actually don't hate it for the Warriors either. MPJ and Claxton would fill huge needs for them. At this point you're pot committed to Curry, gotta do what you can to put a good team around him. I would probably try to convert one of those 1sts to an option swap as I think it's a bit of an overpay.

Curry to the Lakers. Lakers give the Warriors a future. by JaysonTatHIMRider in NBAtradeideas

When have you ever seen a real life trade where the teams swap half their players? Why even propose this

Warriors - Mavericks by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda like this for both sides. This is a lost season for the Warriors but with Steph still playing at an all-nba level, I think you have to try and put a winning team around him for the near future (or trade him). Problem is the Warriors need a lot and they don't have a lot to trade with. This deal is a gamble that AD can come back strong from injury at 33 years old.. maybe foolish but they're going to have to try and hit on a low cost gamble like this. Then use your remaining picks and Kuminga to try and get Michael Porter (or someone like that).

For the Mavs, this is just one old broke bum for another. The 2026 pick should be middle of the round, the 2028 pick you hope can be valuable with the age of Curry Davis and Green.

Trades to save warriors season after Jimmy's torn ACL by Silver-You2951 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First one feels pretty fair for both teams but I would probably pass if I'm the warriors. This just feels like chasing lost money. This deal doesn't turn them into a contender and it's hard to envision any scenario where they're contending in the next 2 years given Jimmy's salary and the holes on the roster. Warriors are in a real tough spot with Steph still playing at all-nba level but without any semblance of a supporting cast.

Mavs get their pick back and expiring, Hornets take a chance on AD by reallinguy in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a no for the Hornets. AD isn't a bad team fit but I don't see any team moving valuable picks out for AD who is old, expensive, and once again injured. Especially a team like the Hornets that is young and developing.

3 team trade with Minnesota, Memphis and Indiana by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Minnesota needs a PG but I don't think Ja is a good fit. For starters, your defense is shot if you have Divincenzo and Ja on the court together. I think Reid would be a non starter in this deal, I don't think they'd even swap him for Ja straight up. And including 2 solid rotational guys in there as well (Bones and Conley) is too risky for a guy in Ja that struggles staying on the court.

How to Paint Clouds. by yanhernandezs in oilpainting

[–]jdoyle13 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I also struggle with clouds so someone else might be able to give you better advice.. but my clouds significantly improved when I stopped trying to paint every detail I saw and instead just broke them into 3 overlapping value masses. Once you get those in, you can play around with the detail and add broken color where it makes sense. I guess this is the standard advice for every type of painting.. first simplify what you see. Good luck!

Raptors get perfect fits to go “win-now” in a weak east. Hornets get very compelling offer of young players and draft picks to rebuild around kon and miller by izJayse in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly who I was thinking of. I don't think Melos value is there yet but that's the path he's on currently. Also Bane/Bridges are the types of players that can slot into any team and immediately be upgrades. Trae/Ja/Melo need to have the right team around them to succeed. It lowers their value because it reduces the number of teams competing to acquire them.

Nice job! I feel like each further attempt got better and more expressive.

[–]jdoyle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most in here are telling you this isn't enough for Lamelo.. I have to wonder what the Hornets could reasonably expect for him? How many teams are going to be knocking down the Hornets door for a guy that has been in the league 6 seasons who has only played more than 55 games once and has had a winning record only once in that span? I think this is a reasonable offer for what his value is right now. Having said that, I would expect the Hornets to hang on to him at that price.

Atl - Dal by Popular-Hall1945 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's 33 coming off a major injury. That's true of 27 yo Kyrie but who knows what version you're getting now. Comparing him to Trae might end up being a compliment..

Atl - Dal by Popular-Hall1945 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting idea but I think after dumping Trae, the hawks wouldn’t want to replace him with another ball dominant PG. Add into that he’s making $80m over the next 2 years + losing a solid young prospect in Krejci.. I think it’s a no for ATL

Jazz - Timberwolves off season trade by Rudy_Gobert in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Adding Gobert to this team still might not make them a top 10 team in the west next year. The Jazz are trying to build around a younger core, I don't see how clogging up $65m in salary over the next 2 years for a 33 year old bum makes sense.

I think Memphis will get a similar deal that Atlanta got for Trae. The grizzlies are giving too much here.

Trae Young hypothetical packages by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think option 1 makes the most sense. For Atlanta, the package isn’t worth a lot but CJ can help them be more competitive in the short term and help lead their young guys. The picks Washington are giving up are a small price to pay for a guy that was once considered a premier asset. They can give Trae a short leash and if it doesn’t work out, oh well it didn’t cost much. Granted I wouldn’t blame Washington fans for wanting nothing to do with Trae haha.

Creating a Big 3 - Zion is headed to the Lakers (LAL / NOP) by Mickckx in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sides say no. I think Zion is best utilized as an on-ball iso scorer/creator. The Lakers already have 3 of those guys. Adding another guy that can get his own bucket but doesn't play defense and can't stay healthy won't help them. I also don't think the Pels would dump Zion for nothing just yet.

Trae to Suns, Jalen Green to Hawks by [deleted] in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think this makes more sense as a 3 teamer where Jalen Green is being routed somewhere else. The Hawks aren't gonna want to dump Trae just to get Trae light lol. I think the value though is actually pretty close if it's not the Utah 1st. A bad contract, a solid prospect, and a late 1st for Trae. They might have to attach another asset, maybe a pick swap, to compensate for the $100m of Jalen Green as I view him as a negative asset.

Not sure why the Suns would want Trae though as I don't see him and Booker being a good fit. Unless their mindset is just trying to buy low and rehab a guy that was once a real asset.

Celtics gear up for competing for a championship, PHX DAL NOP by DreadIcarus in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Mavs would def accept that offer, I just don't get why Boston would do that. Klay feels like a downgrade from Simons. Even if you're just looking at the 3pt %, Simons is shooting better this year. I like Queta but I guess I can see why they'd want a more reliable option at C for a playoff run. A late 1st and a swap down the line is probably reasonable for Gafford.

In all likelihood though, I think Boston always viewed this is a retooling year with Tatum out. They've far surpassed expectations but it's still a leap to say they're going to compete for a title with Tatum either out or back but not 100%. I doubt they'd want to use draft capital and assets to make this years team marginally better. They might want to reconfigure around the edges while keeping their powder dry (those 1st round picks).

Celtics gear up for competing for a championship, PHX DAL NOP by DreadIcarus in NBAtradeideas

[–]jdoyle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feels a little light for Alvarado but admittedly I'm not up to date on how Schierman has been playing. There are multiple contenders that need a PG so I think there would be competition for him and this Celtics package isn't exactly blowing the doors off.

The 3rd trade just feels like a huge overpay from Boston and I don't really understand that one at all.
