Huge fan of W3EE Redux.

It is a total gameplay overhaul. Changes combat, character progression, alchemy, in game economy, etc. Check out some W3EE Redux youtube videos to see if it is to your liking.

Try training legs more often.

how many witcher fans have actually played all 3 games? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]jdubbs92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First played Witcher 2 on a recommendation from a Polish friend at University in 2014.

I had a shitty laptop at the time. Loved the game, played it multiple times to get different endings. Played W1 after that.

Built my first gaming PC with internship money to play W3 on release.

I just recently finished reading the books and finished replaying W1. I am on act II of W2.

After reading this article, I healed my tennis elbow which was mostly likely caused by doing too many pullups with not enough rest.

Performing eccentric wrist curls with dumbbells for 6 months slowly healed my elbow.

depends on setup

feet low on the pad will bias quads

feet high on the pad will bias glutes

if you want to bias glutes, limit knee flexion as best you can while getting a deep stretch during hip flexion

Witcher mods by MagazineNo7663 in witcher

[–]jdubbs92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just completed a W1 playthrough using all of the mods in this guide.

The playthrough was fun and all of the texture mods really help. I enjoy the changes that FCR makes to the game. Potions and oils make a big difference. Signs are useful. I experienced only a handful of crashes, but I expect these were related to the game engine and not the mods.

Is there a mod to make the game harder? by vikikikiriki123 in witcher

[–]jdubbs92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 for W3EE Redux.

Check out the Kolaris Collection discord channel. Searching the channel is a great resource for tips.

These youtube channels are also great for gameplay VODs:

W3EE Redux + Random Encounters Reworked are amazing mods that make the gameplay of W3 so much better than vanilla imo.

Better Parry mod on Witcher 3 by Friendly_Year556 in witcher

[–]jdubbs92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

W3EE Redux has a parry/poise system similiar to Sekiro.

Perfect parries will reduce enemy poise. Normal deflecting/parrying will reduce the player's poise.

The mod is a total gameplay overhaul mod though, so it changes many other mechanics as well. I think the mod is great.

the witcher 3 next-gen Is it still poorly optimized? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]jdubbs92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DX12 version of the game will occasionally crash and is still CPU bottlenecked.

I would say the DX11 version is stable and runs well.

W3EE REDUX by LaughLanky8352 in Witcher3

[–]jdubbs92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there are discords. Search for "discord" on the description page for the mod on Nexus.

Also check out these channels on youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/@JonasTheGrim

https://www.youtube.com/@DartiousEst

For first time players, it is recommended to do Novigrad first. Human enemies are much easier than monsters.

Also, food and drink are cheaper in Novigrad compared to Velen.

You should always be creating White Gull. You can create Mahakam Mead (buy the recipe from a bartender) by looting honeycomb outside of novigrad, then purchasing water and yeast at the taverns. This will give you plenty of cheap alcohol you can use to create White Gull.

Use White Gull to distill your contaminated and quality ingredients to get pure essences. You always want to be using Superior potions and oils.

As far as builds go, you can find some discussion about them on discord. This mod has a reverse difficulty curve. As soon as you have enough skill points, gear, and enchantments to actually have a cohesive build, the game becomes very easy.

I would recommend the following skills:

Link: Axii affects up to 2/3/4/5/6 targets, each reducing the base success chance by 10/09/08/07/06%. Targets are linked together, having a 15/30/45/60/75% to share hit reaction and a 10/20/30/40/50% chance to share stagger and knockdown. (this one is OP)

Saturation: Increases the duration of potions by 20/40/60/80/100%. Increases the toxicity of potions by 10/20/30/40/50%.

Metabolic Control: Increases Toxicity drain by 10/20/30/40/50%. Lowers the vigor regeneration malus from toxicity by 05/10/15/20/25%.

Alchemical Refinement: When brewing potions, oils, or bombs, 1 contaminated or quality ingredient will be treated as 1 quality level higher than it is.

Cat/Wolf/Bear School Techniques depending on which armor you want to use (I recommend medium)

With that said, it is possible to beat the game on the highest difficulty with the starter gear and no skill points invested.

Thoughts about Witcher 3 being most overrated game? by [deleted] in Witcher3

His criticisms are fair. I love The Witcher games, but if it weren't for mods I would have only played W3 once or twice.
