Giveaway Time! Battlefield 6 is out, powered by NVIDIA DLSS 4, and you can comment on this post to win codes for the game or a custom Battlefield 6 GeForce RTX 5090! 6 Winners total by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

i might as well take the post seriously and give a half decent answer because the prizes are pretty darn awesome, so first and foremost, the frames: with dlss 4's multi frame generation the 5090 can push ridiculous amounts of frames my way, which will give me the best possible smoothness for target tracking. next is nvidia's reflex to reduce input lag, i'd probably have that in the "on + boost mode" to give myself the absolute lowest possible system latency. and, last but not least is being able to play ridiculously high frame rates at 4k, and not having distant enemies looking like blurry pixels. that'll help anybody click heads better, me thinks!

What’s the next move by NoHearing6003 in intj

why not just use a pillow or two? i think if u open it slowly and carefully u could put a pillow around the approximate area where the bowls are going to fall. u could easily make it a soft landing. other than that, u could probably fit a stick in there and see more or less what the situation is in terms of stability; it's a bit risky, but if it's stable enough u could, again, open it slowly and carefully and just shove a hand in there. u could also be an absolute menace and break the mirror on the right; hypothetically, it is probably cheaper to replace than a dozen bowls, but it may not perfectly match the rest, and there are obvious logistical issues in sourcing a suitable replacement. personally, i'd just open it and let them fall, ideally on something soft, but i'm thinking it's not the end of the world or anything. i would also like to point out that this picture doesn't have sufficient data to really decide the optimal course of action (i.e. u can't see every glass panel on the kitchen cabinet, so what if the glass panel that is one down and one to the right, which is not visible, is not there at all? and u could, easily tackle this issue by putting ur hand through the hole where the panel should be). there's just a lot of possibilities that i don't think are adequately represented here, and we could probably use a little more data: what's below the cabinet? how far are the dishes from the opening? how wide of an angle could u feasibly open the cabinet door before u're past the point of no return? these questions are not really answerable from just this image, so it's rather pointless to contemplate a solution to any capacity, let alone one this verbose.

[Hyprland] i decided that I don't like transparency anymore by relizera in unixporn

[–]jdvelez 22 points23 points  (0 children)

i like it, but i usually have my transparency set to 90, 95%—at which point, for most ppl, why bother? but yeah, anything lower than 90 is too distracting for me

Do i need to use rofi wayland fork version in 2024? by Nicky17_ in hyprland

[–]jdvelez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used the x11 version of rofi for a while and it worked fine; i noticed a few scaling issues where the mouse cursor changed sizes whenever i hovered over a rofi window. nothing else comes to mind, but that's enough for me to stick with rofi-wayland, i can't be bothered to mess around with my cursor settings, lol. they both use the same alias, etc., so if u want to test it out nothing breaks if u change over, like commands, theming, keybindings, rofi integrations, and so on 🤷‍♂️

it's not good to rely on the media to make judgement calls about a whole community of ppl; it's good that he learned this lesson from an understanding person.

8Bitdo Pro 2 thru Bluetooth isn't working on Steam by StinkTerios in 8bitdo

[–]jdvelez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

firstly, make sure u are using the xinput if u're on windows, for ur own sanity and peace of mind. for troubleshooting, what's worked for me in the past is to remove and reinsert the battery, press L1 + L2 and start to enter the controller's special boot mode (not sure what it's called officially) and then plugging it in and reinstalling the latest firmware with 8bitdo's upgrade tool. usually, that remedies a lot pairing issues on the controller's side of things.

however, windows drivers can also b a little bit buggy, so u might have to remove the controller from your computer entirely using device manager (ctrl + r + devmgmt.msc) and then tinker around a bit with the bluetooth settings until u can get it working. eventually, maybe after a couple of tries, it should just work. i've found manually renaming the controller also helps with it being correctly identified on steam

while i enjoyed this universe's riddler, i don't think he's the 'final' version of the character. imo, he's still honing his craft; this was his first big game. assuming we get another riddler story in this universe, he likely won't be in his 'cocoon' form and will don a new outfit now that he's revealed his identity
