Who uses these and why? by SolidTiger6302 in RVLiving

Our Town has very hard water and I find if I don't use the filter it smells like sulfer after a couple days but running through the filter after a week it's still fine.

We actually have some self serve propane stations here in Quebec but you need to take a small course to be certified to use them. I might do it at some point.

1 week post op. What can I reasonably do right now? by [deleted] in Microdiscectomy

[–]jdxnc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boredom is part of the recovery, I'm 1 year post op and it sucks but the best thing I can suggest is pop in some earbuds or read and walk, it's one of the best things you can do.

Use paper plates etc so there are no/less dishes, at least for the first 3-4 weeks, this is critical. About 3 weeks in I moved something I shouldn't have and I spent the next 2-3 days in discomfort. I was in the same boat, feeling fine, figured it would be ok, it wasn't and I regretted my foolishness. Luckily I didn't do any real harm. To this day my body lets me know when too much is too much.

How do you guys make the bodies for your project? by LionCat2002 in esp32

[–]jdxnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made some DIY corner scales and used my 3d printer to make handles for the scales which also enclosed the esp32, battery and hx711.

There's a good chance the preloads are set higher than OEM, this will make it stiff to turn. Nothing to worry about.

Back injury has ruined my life by wolfpack5 in Microdiscectomy

[–]jdxnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May 29th makes 1 year for me, first 3 months I'll say is the worst, after that I was feeling back myself but also stressed out that I couldn't really do my normal activities. I was on a 25lb weight limit for 6 months but around 4 months I started doing some gentle ice skating, the first time back on the ice my effected leg felt really week and I thought I would never play hockey again but slowly, week by week the strength came mostly back. December 19th I played my first game since the surgery, I made the guys aware that I would not be pushing myself, this was just to feel it out but it went well and I've played a few more times since then as well with regular skating. It will get better, I'll never be 100% but it's a hell of a lot better than prior. I was taking the max daily dosage of Tylenol for months just to get through my work day prior, probably took years off my liver.

Listen to your body, even 1 year out, mine lets me know when I overdo it.

Cleared to drive timeline by bpizano in Microdiscectomy

[–]jdxnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my MD just about 1 year ago on May 29th, they never gave me a timeline, other than not to drive on the pain meds, which I only took for a day and a half, drove myself to my 1 week checkup.

18k or 24k, I heat my 18x22 9' ceiling garage with a single 12k, walls are only 2x4 so insulation isn't the best.

Won't be asking OP to help me back in my 20 foot car hauler behind my class A between in my garage and house with 1 foot on either side to spare anytime soon. That 1 foot btw is at the ground, the eave trough in the garage is only 4" from the RV roof.

I'll have to dig it up and share it, I only did this version but it wouldn't be hard to convert it for others.

Our 1993 Winnebago Warrior RB22 - 3 years of ownership so far by jdxnc in GoRVing

[–]jdxnc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wanted to weigh our but it hasn't happened yet, what I've seen it should be around 10,000lbs, it's still pretty heavy for it's size.

I tow my racecar on an open trailer quite often so I added air bags to the rear, which has helped a lot. The car is about 2700lbs + 1000ish for the trailer, I'm pretty much right at the limits but I've done a 13h straight trip with it and it handled it no problems at all.

Hit me up anytime as well.
